Shipping date speculation

got charged on my credit card,
however I email Google telling them I want to cancel my order a weeks ago,

hum.....

I had absolutely no luck with emails whatsoever, but they got it cancelled on the same day I called them. Call them ASAP if you want to cancel.

After a 30min call to Google, without promising anything of course they said I should receive my device early next week. 07/05 orders are coming soon. Yay. :)
Maybe Google can learn something from this...

I gave up being on hold w/Google and just deleted my credit card from Google Wallet. Now they have nothing to bill except a card that expired in 2011 so my order will fail. Problem solved. I think.

Trust me, they are not printing labels in chronological order, sticking them on boxes, and handing them to a UPS guy."

Great point. I am in Westchester County, NY. Ordered 7/4, billed this afternoon.

You people are crazy, Google has specifically said that the device will ship in the middle of July. That is technically July 15th at noon to be exact. Your orders are shipping a whole two days ahead of that time frame and yet you have the audacity to throw a fit as if your favorite toy was just taken away from you.

Your toy has shipped, with two-day shipping I might add, and will be in your hands soon.

CALM DOWN.

So I shouldn't be upset at having to pay for shipping on a device that I can get locally at a lower price?

Problem is retailers are getting their shipments before the pre-orders are even send out...

The problem is that said retailers are selling the device earlier then they should be. Google has said wait until Sunday, many haven't listened. Which isn't surprising in the least considering this happens quite often with video game releases.

My friend waited 12 hours in line outside an Apple store for the New iPad and watched a guy who just came from Walmart unbox his New iPad a whole 10 hours before Apple planned to open its doors to sell it.

With 31 days in the month, technically it'd be noon on the 16th. The point is still well made though since it's only the 13th.
The problem now is that we were lead to believe that preording from Google was the fastest way to receiving one.
Paying extra for shipping to do so as well.
Now we learn that not only is Google Play Store not the fastest way, we can just pick it up (which turns into a waste of money from the unnecessary shipping)

I'll say again. One of the world's most powerful corporations. If they really wanted to keep the retailers from distributing, with their power and their money, they'd be able to

You didn't read my example about Walmart and the New iPad, did you?

I did. On how large of a scale was that? And it it was still only one retailer. Also, Apple may be equal to or greater than Android in power, Apple isn't equal in power to Google, however.

Just showed up on my bank!
CHECKCARD 07/13 GOOGLE *DEVICES GOOGLE.COM/CH CA |activity type debit | status pending |-284.69
BTW: Shipping to Texas (Dallas County), order on "June 29, 2012 9:45:27 AM UTC-4".

Meh, I'll still order pre releases from Google. My personal experience was/is:
1) ordered
2) getting item within promised time frame

Everything else is a crap shoot.

Just once I'd like to see an Android launch that wasn't a CF. Ifanboys are laughing over this.

I wouldn't call this by any means a failure. It'd been nice if Google got retailers to hold off until Monday but they didn't. I'm happy it's finally shipping and technically Sunday is Mid-july, so Monday is a perfect delivery date, but I'm guess it might be Tuesday. I'll see when I get my tracking number.

Really? That's a bit sad if they are. And honestly if anyone wants to stop using google products over it they are more than welcome but we are getting a bit... Well.... kiddish over the whole thing at this point.

Agreed. It could be a lot worse... I've been praying I'll get it before I leave town Wednesday night.
