Shipping date speculation

I got an email from Staples saying that they got my order today (even though I pre-ordered earlyer in the week) my Delivery date says 7/16 (Monday) instead of the 7/18 (wednesday) date I got earlier.


It also says it has not been shipped yet so Im thinking Staples is just confused and it will still come around the 18th

Someone posted an email from staples that they would receive a new order confirmation when it was ready to ship and that you would be able to check the order status with the new order number.
 
For me, the part that could make this launch a failure is the retailers distributing the devices before Google did. I would've liked it this week, there is no doubt! But, a delivery next week would still uphold Google's promise, and I would be perfectly content with that. However, like I said, the fact that retailers distributed first, for me, takes away my willingness to be a future customer. No, they didn't promise that the pre-orders would arrive first, there was no guarantee or mention, so it isn't their credibility I question (other than some of the Nexus Reps feeding us some inaccurate information). However, I certainly lost any incentive to buy from them in the future, merely because there is no advantage, and in this case, there is even a slight disadvantage.
 
The waiting for the device is half the fun. Not worth getting worked up about.. it's a tablet that you'll own for possibly years. What's a couple of days?

Agreed. I have been waiting for this device for months and months. And I guess I just don't see the point of getting upset over this. They said mid July. They never promised that you early adopter play store preorderer's that you would be the only ones that would get it in mid July. I think they said if you wanted to be guaranteed one in mid July the only way to guarantee one was to pre-order it from them. And I don't even know if they said that. The bottom line is that Google is not a hardware company. Give them a break. If you can't wait, drive your ass around to 10 or 15 stores to try and find one, Buy it and when you get your Google order, return it.

Either that or if you really feel that strongly about it get your pitchfork and torches and head over to google HQ and give them a piece of your mind and a poke.

Someone said it earlier but this is some classic 1st world problems right here.
 
So, if Google announced mid-july, you pre-ordered and then they shipped to retailers on the 1st of July and were available in B&M stores on the 4th, you'd be fine? Google could hold off shipping until the 15th and as far as you're concerned, that's ok. Google kept their promise. It's great.
 
I feel like google should've just waiting until monday to ship. People are freaking out because retailers are selling them first and also because 2 day shipping over the weekend SUCKS! :)

I am going on vacation tomorrow so after i didnt get notification by wednesday of shipping I kinda gave up and figured it would be waiting for me when I got back.

BTW: Card is billed and I purchased June 30th. Cambridge Massachusetts.. So I guess I am 1 of the 100 on a pallet to shrewsbury! :)

Finally got Jellybean this afternoon on my Nexus Phone. Google now and the voice dictation are pretty sweet!
 
My card now has a pending charge for 228, and i preordered the 6th of July. Maybe most recent are being processed first?

Haven't gotten an email though yet

No that would be less acceptable. That is almost 2 weeks difference there. We are talking a few days. And it seems to be sporadic stores that are selling them. Its not like you can just walk into any Sams club or gamestop or best buy and pick one up. Tonight, just pick a store. Any store that you think might sell you one. Go there and I would be willing to bet they dont have any for sale or if they do they will say they were told not to sell them until next week.

Again google didn't promise that you would ONLY be able to get it from them. They just said that you could. And that would be in mid july.

Both Sams clubs in town have them. If you preordered with Gamestop, you'd have it now and wouldn't pay shipping. If you went through Google you may not get it until a week later and you'll pay shipping to boot.

Is there any confirmation about gamestop. Someone else in here earlier said that their gamestop said they couldn't sell them yet.

But either way we are splitting hairs here. Some people get theirs today. Some people have to wait until early next week.

All the gamestops I called said they only received enough to cover pre orders and I would have to place an order to get one on the "next shipment".... They had no units for retail.
 
there is NO pleasing you guys..... theyre shipping theyre ON THEIR WAY HERE at some point soon within the next 3 business days IM SECITED AS HELL
