Shipping date speculation

I got a UPS tracking number from Google at 10:12 pm Eastern. UPS has no info available yet, and Google didn't say when to expect delivery. My surname begins with a W.

Just got my shipping notice from the Google Play store. I am pleased, very pleased. I ordered mine on June 29th.

According to Paul O'Brien (MoDaCo), the 16GB has 13GB usable. If that helps...

Must share a memory... ;) The first hard drive I ever saw was a 10 megabyte (10,000,000) not 10 gigabyte (10,000,000,000) hard drive in the first IBM PC. After bringing it home you formatted it. Part of the excitement was you had no idea how much space you would really end up with because there would be bad sectors. For the luxury of this the cost was over $5,000. That's right no OS was installed from the factory. You booted the OS from a single floppy -- a 5 1/4" floppy disk with only about 170,000 bytes of storage for the whole OS with room to spare.

Some might not agree, but I think that's awesome!

woot!!! I got my confirmation and tracking number!!!

Edit: I hate when AF takes an all cap post and lowers every letter -_-

You still booted from a single floppy.

That's nothing, when I was a kid we had to boot our Data General Nova with 8K of core memory from a 3 inch diameter roll of paper tape fed through an ASR-33 paper tape reader. We would have thanked God for a floppy disk! (No really, a true story, but it was at the engineering lab at school, not at home - took all weekend because it kept jamming and you had to start from scratch :-).

oh man you bring back some memories... swapping the CGA to EGA on my old IBM XT was quite an amazing thing....

In other news: I have a pending charge on my CC, but no shipping email yet.

Whoa! I missed punch cards but do remember the phone bill arriving on a punch card. Well look at that, we've come full circle back to phone tech!

I think I've already blown that theory. People on the east coast are getting them the same time people in Texas are getting them.

Congrats, gflare. I'm constantly amazed how everyone has become geeks these days, as this forum proves!

My debit card was charged. Pending transaction as of 3pm EST today.

I ordered the 28th around 4am EST.
Still no email. So pumped.

wow this thread is really blowing up now. Good to see at least a few people are satisfied.

No number here... Ordered within an hour of announcement and charged at 10am ish this morning...

Yep, no tracking email here and I managed to order on 6/27 before the N7 was added to the Google Play Device page. Sigh... Definitely not processing in order received. GOOG, so deserves a spanking.

Received my email with tracking number about 14 minutes ago. UPS show no info really other then the weight and destination city/state. Also says the shipping label was created on July 12th. Mines shipping to 75081 (Richardson, TX)

yeah, it's quite remarkable what the internet has done for.... well... everything. It's so nice to see some of the old heads around also, sometimes when I hop on games it seems like we're lost in a sea of people that use it more as a stress-release nowadays.

btw, I'm not referring to anyone here with that comment - it's a broad generalization of online gaming stereotypes that's been growing for well over the past 15yrs.

This is crap! I ordered 6/27 at 1:27 PM. My card has not been charged and no emails from Google. How is it people can get it from Gamestop but Google can not get it to people that have preordered from them directly?

Hey y'all!

Soft bricked my Nexus Prime last night and just got Jelly Bean back up and running...

...anyway...I am glad to see that we haven't resorted to screaming, kicking and yelling at each other over this perceived debacle of a launch.

For the record, my card was charged today (officially, since the first charge was for Google to confirm that our cards were active/chargeable) at 3:11pm PST. I have not since received an email nor tracking number. Am I slightly annoyed? Yes... but...

...last night I was loading Jelly Bean to my Nexus Prime and just before bed I swapped out my battery, as I do most evenings. However, this time my phone didn't boot. And nothing would bring me out of endless bootloops! Thankfully, this forum has taught me how to be self sufficient. I used a working recovery, adb and a little luck to extract my sdcard before having to wipe my device clean...everything!

What is my point???

...Last night, I could have lost every picture I have of my son (20 months old) amongst other important photos and files. I spent over three hours of what could have been sleep making this happen. I got just two hours of sleep before a 9.5hr day....

What is my point???

...Let us cherish the things which truly matter to us in the grand scheme of this short life we have. Yeah, I want my Nexus 7...but I wanted those digital memories more. And thanks to this forum and the friends I have made here, I get both!

Remember, your Nexus 7 will arrive. You paid for it; you'll get it and it will be GRAND! In the mean time, tell someone, "I love you."
