Shipping date speculation

Hey y'all!

Soft bricked my Nexus Prime last night and just got Jelly Bean back up and running...

...anyway...I am glad to see that we haven't resorted to screaming, kicking and yelling at each other over this perceived debacle of a launch.

For the record, my card was charged today (officially, since the first charge was for Google to confirm that our cards were active/chargeable) at 3:11pm PST. I have not since received an email nor tracking number. Am I slightly annoyed? Yes... but...

...last night I was loading Jelly Bean to my Nexus Prime and just before bed I swapped out my battery, as I do most evenings. However, this time my phone didn't boot. And nothing would bring me out of endless bootloops! Thankfully, this forum has taught me how to be self sufficient. I used a working recovery, adb and a little luck to extract my sdcard before having to wipe my device clean...everything!

What is my point???

...Last night, I could have lost every picture I have of my son (20 months old) amongst other important photos and files. I spent over three hours of what could have been sleep making this happen. I got just two hours of sleep before a 9.5hr day....

What is my point???

...Let us cherish the things which truly matter to us in the grand scheme of this short life we have. Yeah, I want my Nexus 7...but I wanted those digital memories more. And thanks to this forum and the friends I have made here, I get both!

Remember, your Nexus 7 will arrive. You paid for it; you'll get it and it will be GRAND! In the mean time, tell someone, "I love you."

I'd recommend getting Google+ and turning on Instant Upload. Every picture I take on my phone is instantly uploaded to Google+ so I'll never lose all my important photos of my Son.

I can't believe people that ordered at a later date have shipping info already. I ordered on the 27th, the charge is pending in my bank account which is a good sign, but still no shipping email from google, so that means it hasn't gone anywhere.

I ordered at 9 PM on the I/O date and just got email from google play with the tracking info. Hopefully it will be here by Monday.

I think I'm gonna test out the 8GB and if I want more storage, I'll order the 16GB and just sell the other..best of both. Just wish I had some info...JoMo 64801

Please don't shoot the messenger:

I placed my order JULY 10.....and I just got my confirmation it has shipped tonight.

If I hadn't been reading this thread I would think "amazing service Google."

Shipping email arrived. Tracking not available. Will probably see the N7 on Monday. Any guesses how many Nexus 7s Google has sold?

Why do you call your GNex the Nexus Prime? Lol...

The code name for the Galaxy Nexus was Nexus Prime. I remember as far back as my first days owning the Droid Incredible (a year after its release I might add), I was following the very first rumors of said GNex. Back then, every blog and reputable website was referring to it as Nexus Prime...even our own beloved Phandroid!

So while I can see that the design language is a mash up of that of the Nexus S and the Samsung Galaxy S II...I will always refer to it as the Nexus Prime. Heck, even the bootloader makes reference to it...reboot to your bootloader and check out your bootloader version.

Of all the things I put in the cloud, for some reason I have a hard time putting pics there, especially of my family. I do know that had we linked the wife's phone to her G+ in this fashion, we would have all the photos we lost when her phone was stolen, so I see the value on that end. Something in me would rather keep my family memories out of the cloud, though. I don't necessarily have a fully rational argument for this, it is more of a gut feeling. Again, don't know why...

What about something like dropbox that is less likely to have something shared by accident? I can see where you are coming from about the cloud thing but it is the most viable solution for backups.

Does anyone know if these UPS deliveries are coming with a signature required?

My confirmation now shows a Monday July 16th by end of day delivery.

2nd dropbox, they have a camera uploads folder which will do it automatically (on wifi and while charging if you like), and they'll give you extra space for doing it.
