Shipping date speculation

This launch is laughable. This is supposed to be a flagship product and they completely frakked up the launch. I can't believe how incompetent a company of engineers is at a product launch.

I spoke to Google this morning....

Labels were created last week and entered into UPS system generating a lot of false delivery dates based on normal times from when the label was generated until it gets into UPS's hands.....

That said..... according to the rep NOTHING has left Google's warehouse until today. So it looks like some of us may get it Wednesday.

I tried to get the $13.99 2nd day delivery fee waived....first guy wouldn't budge...a supervisor said he would try but that " I'm in the same boat as you...mine hasn't been delivered either"

I'm getting worried. Honest opinions: Are we really going to get these things or is google about to issue mass apologies and refunds, with us never receiving them? Do you think Google was telling the truth that they started shipping Friday and that all of them would be shipped in 3 business days (or by tuesday)?

Google said that the latest deliveries would be Wednesday and the earliest would be Monday, so I'm not sure how accurate that is. I also called Google again, and the rep said they will be delivered today, tomorrow, and Wednesday. The fact that no one is getting a consistent answer is why I'm just waiting for it to come.

New update on my order! Seems the package has been scanned in and I have some real tracking info now. Should be delivered tomorrow (Tuesday) between 2 and 6pm.

A few minutes a go my tracking number info changed..... now shows :

IN TRANSIT

Scheduled Delivery Updated To:
Tuesday, 07/17/2012, By End of Day
Last Location:
Louisville, KY, United States, Monday, 07/16/2012

So it must have hit a UPS facility. The Google rep I talked to was wrong. Some did go out last week.

I also called Google this morning. Was polite to the gentleman since there was no reason not to be. My spin was to see if I could change my order to eliminate the case since I believe this is what's holding things up. You already know the outcome as did I when I called but I figured it wouldn't hurt to try.

They can't change orders once they are in the system for "security reasons" because someone could screw with another's order (my paraphrase). He heard from customers that the cases were holding up shipments but had not been told that from internal sources. He said their goal was to ship all US orders within the next three days.

I summarized by saying I shouldn't officially freak out until Wednesday evening and he agreed. He also said he'd freak out if they weren't shipped by then. I believe the bulk of his job has been dealing with impatient bastards like me.

I considered asking about compensation for the delay but stopped myself because they really haven't delayed yet. If they ship this week, they've made the middle of July. Just because mine may ship later than others doesn't mean Google messed up. I'm not going to argue the definition of "middle" since it's a range, just like beginning and end.

I'm not thrilled but I can do nothing beyond wait. I do think this launch has been botched but after living through the Galaxy Nexus launch (a botched release of historical proportions, which I mentioned to the Google rep, who laughed nervously in response) it's a minor botch at this point.

Well I'm officially pissed.

I just spoke with UPS. Their info doesn't even show it has shipped yet. Its just sitting somewhere in Kentucky.

UPS showing the N7 has arrived at their facility in KY as of 9:26 Monday, sched for delivery Tuesday by end of day. However, the order was processed and ready for UPS on 7/10 at 6:21am. So there's a story here Enquiring Reporters.

I believe all packages shipped by UPS go through their processing plant in Kentucky so you may be further along than you think.

Yep, they've been scanning boxes all morning in KY. People in this thread, and over at xda, are starting to get the update in their tracking number.

In Baltimore MD too and I got the limited info this morning after entering my tracking #.

It says the label created on 7/11 and the scheduled delivery date is 7/13 ??

Hopefully I can receive my n7 by this Friday

Nothing here. - Baltimore, MD.

My tracking number doesn't give me any info other than label creation 07/09/12

Yeah, I've seen other posts from people who's N7 is in Kentucky and is supposed to be delivered by end of day tomorrow.

This whole process has just been frustrating. The first thing I've ever pre-ordered. When popular games have been announced I've never pre-ordered. Just went to the store the day it was released and picked it up. A lesson learned.

How quickly the world owes some of you all something because of a few little mistakes. Are you kidding me? You're not getting a refund. You're not getting anything waived. Google owes no apologies. This 21st Century self-entitlement is pathetically silly. I don't get mine until August 7th, and some of you have the audacity to complain that your device won't ship until 'Thursday at the latest' of this week?

Act like the adults you supposedly are and find something else to worry over. Its a freaking tablet, not the second coming of Christ. We have gotten ridiculously out of hand with wanting everything now in our society. We've come from Dial-Up to FioS internet connectivity and you people still complain on how slow the internet is. We've come from rotary phones to phones that essentially do everything for us, yet they still aren't good enough. Chill out.

If I were a stranger to these forums I would think Google were killing people's family members. That's how some of you are acting and its by far the most displeasing sight to see in the Android community.

Tracking info is finally added. Mine is also in Louisville, KY with an expected delivery to Virginia by end of the day Tuesday. It's almost comical it shows Shipped/Billed on 7/11. That's a very long 2 day ship!
