Shipping date speculation

I think he's aloud to be dramatic given the fact that Google hasn't give ANY notification or communication as to when most will receive their tablets. Not to mention the fact that Many pre-ordered on the notion that they'd probably get them relatively fast and before it was available in retail. Google owes many an explanation and some sort of credit for their sloppy handling of the situation.

I don't think Google owes them anything. Mine is scheduled for delivery tomorrow 7-17, within the 2-3 week timeline that was stated when I ordered (on 6-27).

I do have issue though because those that ordered a device and OEM case seem to be getting delayed because the case is unavailable or not ready and they are waiting for the case to complete the order. That stinks.

Google should send email for people to pick whether to wait, cancel the case or send the case later with additional shipping charges.

If you ordered 1st wave and still do not have shipping confirmation from Google or UPS, did you order the case (or maybe some other accessory) with it?

When you pre-ordered the Nexus, did Google give you a release date? Didn't they say mid-July? Remember, it's just an electronic device.

I didn't order a case. I ordered 16gb July 3rd. I only received the confirmation email that night; no charge to my card no tracking info. I did call Google tonight ( I didn't want to be that guy, but was curious) and the CS Rep told me all pre orders would be shipped out this Tuesday or Wednesday. I stated that we had 2 day shipping, so I should have it by Friday. He said he couldn't guarantee it. He did verify there would be a 100% refund if I refuse delivery.

Then I think it curious that you haven't received anything, and UPS still shows nothing.

I did read though (somewhere) that Google is not requiring a signature, so the UPS guy will drop the package, ring the bell and walk away, giving you no chance to refuse except to catch him/her in the "act" of delivery.

If that happens, YOU are responsible to get the package returned. I'm feeling for ya.

They have them. They are in the process of getting them shipped out. You will get them when they said - mid July. If you didn't like not knowing the release date, you shouldn't have given them your money in the first place.

So I got home from work tonight and I'm out walking the dog in the woods behind my house when lo and behold a UPS truck ulls in the yard. Driver hops out of the truck with an appropriately sized box for my two N7s so I drag the dog mid-pee out of the woods to greet him and accept the package.

Turns out it was something my wife ordered in my name. Damn her, now she is teasing me too.

I don't plan on refusing.. I just asked in case it doesn't show up by Friday and I decide to purchase locally ( our local Sam's has stock). As far as UPS.. my wife works for a school and is off for the summer and home all day. I would hope UPS would at least ring the door bell. I wonder how UPS can say it was delivered if they just leave it outside. I know I've seen that on delivery confirmations ( we ship UPS at work and people call looking for their stuff), but how can they prove they dropped it off without a signature. Filing a claim with UPS for missing packages or damages is a HUGE pain in the rear by the way.

Oh well... I'll continue to wait patiently.

Can't you just write "Package refused - return to sender" on the unopened package and drop it at a UPS store?

No need to sit and watch the door all day to tell the guy you don't want it

I ordered mine July 10th . Received my conformation on Friday the 13 th . Tracking it from Louisville to Mass , in CT now will have it by the end of the day 17th. I think Google fumbled this launch, but we will all be satisfied soon. Then something new will come out and we will go through this same process again. Its crazy.

I really feel for all of you going through the angst caused by the ambiguity of the events that have transpired...

...I went through this kind of, stuff, with the Gnex launch. I know that the details of both launches aren't exactly the same but the fallout is causing us to turn on each other...

...in the Epic Thread of the Gnex launch we were there for each other...every step of the way. Yes there were also shenanigans, ban hammers (if I am remembering correctly) and of course, some spambot named Steven59

My point is: We need to be here for each other. I came to this wonderful forum for Android advice. I stayed because of the experience, people and friends I have made along the way.

We are in this together y'all. If we keep that in mind, this section and the forum as a whole will be that much better for it.

I think the labels where printed and imputed and then the devices sat for several days in the warehouse before UPS picked them up.

You paid for 2 (business) day delivery. Once UPS gets the shipment, you will receive it in 2 days. If Google ships your package next week, you will get it 2 days after, and you will still be getting what you paid for.

As Jmar pointed out, some of you may remember the launch of the Nexus and it was crazy!
Lots of folks completely lost patience and either jumped on the Razr/Rezound or waited it out like the rest of us. Google said mid-July for the N7 and we're just beyond that date.
When was the Nexus "supposed" to be released? Umm, IIRC: Nov 7, Nov 14, Nov 28, Dec 5, Dec 8 and then FINALLY Dec 15 (there's probably a whole host of other dates I missed ).
Point being, I think Google did a pretty solid job of announcing the device less than a month ago and then getting it into peoples' hands. Could it have been better (a la Apple)? Yeah. Am I upset. Nope!

Ya, I was there for that thread for the GNex release. This is not anywhere near as bad (or aggravating).

We were told mid-July, and they delivered that to us. I do understand that it really doesn't make sense why my order, July 6th, was processed and shipped out before a lot of people's orders in late June, but a las, we will all be getting our tablets soon, and we will basically forget all of this hullabaloo happened. Although if not everyone has one by Friday, then I can see a reason to get very upset, until then, they delivered their promise of mid-July.

I still have yet to receive any official recognition that I ordered aside from my Google Wallet account. No charge to my bank, no email stating that I did indeed order a tablet. I honestly doubt I'll have a tablet by Friday.

You should have received an email confirming your order the same day your pre ordered it. If you didn't that means something went wrong. You should call Google.

I'm a little irked still that I didn't get mine shipped in the initial batch.

But, I've accepted it and am content with getting it on Friday should it ship Tuesday or Wednesday as the Google Play Rep said.

well, im off to bed, been up since 7 AM because i awoke to an email on my phone and freaked out XD stupid amazon email XD now im gonna go to sleep, because the UPS man knows when im awake, and wont come until im sleeping. I left him a subway sandwich and a pepsi on my front porch, along with a gallon of diesel for his truck Ive been a patient young boy this weekend, so i should recieve a healthy tablet!

but all jokes aside, i really really hope that those people who are still in the dark with google, wake up with a charge on their account and a tracking email atleast , put this speculation thread to rest, so that they too can geek out with the rest of us, show off all our home screens, help each other root, share the latest ROM findings and so forth.
