Should I upgrade?

Well, it's just an external keyboard that uses bluetooth to communicate with your phone.

As for the set up, put the keyboard into pairing mode, then do the same on the phone. Type in a 4 digit number on the phone, then type the same number on the keyboard and hit enter.

Hey brotherswing, do you think a little tutorial on setting up a Bluethooth keyboard might be in the works?

Well, maybe. If I can ever get it to work. Jerry outlined how to do it in the BACKside thread, but it's still not working for me.

I got it working! It is a little counter intuitive, but it works. After much searching, I found a driver that does the job. The native support Jerry used doesn't seem to be on my phone, so I went looking over at XDA. Nothing there worked either, but I found an app called BlueKeyboard JP (free). Set it up with Apple Wireless Keyboard mapping, and it works. The function keys are mapped wrong, but on the qwerty mapping they don't work at all, which means no punctuation.

Maybe you could post everything in a new thread with a title that will grab attention?

I have to admit, your attitude regarding this is irritating. I have no wish to start a flame war, but you always seem to jump in and berate people about this issue. I understand if this is a pet peeve of yours, but I'm following the flow of conversation. Sometimes the lines get a little blurry, but that's no reason to talk to people that way. If it bothers you that much, why not just report it and ask to have it moved? Or PM AndyOpie150 and ask him to move it?

Make and model?

Did you actually do this on an unrooted phone?

First question - that info is next to impossible to find, but I'd be happy to post a link to the Amazon page when I don't have a sleeping infant in my lap.
Second question - root isn't required, but 2.3 is. I didn't find that out until after the fact. So if root is what bothers you, it isn't required in general, but it is in this specific context.

Is funny how speak of tethering and they bring up TOS rule and lock things, but rooting and braking is ok even though its just as much or more against the TOS rules.

Found one for 175 but it was a old listing n they switched networks. Talked em down to 125. And I get to keep my lg ov. Good day!

Yea I seen to much bad stuff about the Vslider come up to quick, while folks snatch up the V by the dozens when they are cheap. Why I chose it.

I own both phones and the Triumph is by far superior. I bought mine in August and I haven't had any problems and its also almost impossible to brick when flashing custom roms. Unlike the V the Triumph has MIUI and is close to getting ice cream sandwich.

Triumphs are $229 at Radio Shack (Slider is $159) at the moment.

But I would watch Craigslist, to me, even $229 is too much for it.

229 feels like to much. I got mine off craigslist . Only catch is I had to go over to Louisiana to get it. It was well worth it. Great phone but I haven't switched over service from my V yet, :( I'm too attached :D

Hi!

The LG Optimus V section is for all general topics, such as this one, related to the device. The All Things Root section is intended for root-specific topics.

I hope this clarifies things. If not please PM me rather than take this any further off-topic.
