Show us your Desire Homescreens...

At the minute I use a temp root called Visionary which unroots on backup, havent found a guide for Orange branded desires to fully root, gonna wait to see if we get Gingerbread and if we dont I will prolly take the plunge and root :(
You can fully root using any normal root guide (like the one in my signature) however with orange be aware that you cannot return to stock so you have to be willing to take that risk.

Bit of a work in progress, all very much inspired by the other work here in a pick and mix approach nothing too original but it works for me.

Any questions feel free to ask, though as I say most are well known apps/layouts

by using resizing in the launcher
Just to clarify,I'm not referring to 'HOME' being on top of the clock. I'm talking about the analogue clock being on top of the background of the Minimalist Text widget - the 'TWELVETHIRTYONE, LIVERPOOL...'

Can I do it by resizing and how exactly?

Nope, Rastaman-FB is right. Created a 1x3 minimal text widget, stretch to 1x4, and clock is actually occupying a 3x2 vertical strip to align it in the centre of the text block.

If I recall I made the clcok take up just 1 row after adding, moved above the text block and then dragged it down over the text block. Occasionally reverts to being under the text and I have to restart Launcher Pro but not often.

Got the idea from a web site, I'll reference them if I can find the page again!

I suppose it can't be done in Go Launcher? It allows resizing but it doesn't allow widgets to overlap

Sadly not. I tried the free launchers but none allow this overlapping, and even this paid version of LauncherPro doesn't really work well with it. You have to fiddle to get it to do what you want. But you get used to it.

The whole idea of having 'layers' to an Android home screen is something a dev could really get some traction with.

indeed, the overlapping is a bug but should definitely been seen as an intergrated feature.
would be awesome you could make alsorts of wonderfull widget shames with various pngs then overlap something else on top

Hey man, amazing setup! Could I perchance get your lockscreen wallpaper and the name of your agenda widget, please? :)

Well, I have only recently got my phone and this is my first custom theme.

Screen #1 (Default)

The left side bar has links to the other screens

Screen #2 (Music)

The widget is by PowerAMP (it is now transparent but I might change it for another)

Screen #3 (Agenda)

Agenda Widget, it scrolls and stuff. Works nicely seems stable and updates itself with Facebook etc...

Screen #4 (Games)

I kind of use this screen to look at my background :P
That little ChessFREE icon opens a new window filled with games. (Using FolderOrganiser LITE)

Screen #5 (Tools)

Obviously Astrid/ToDo is there, the other icons open new windows with tools of their respective category. Apart from Market.... that's the market :)

Screen#6 (Settings)

epr8m.png

Several Toggle widgets, AudioManager, Flashlight, 3GWatchdog.
Settings opens up various other settings apps incl DesktopVisualizer etc...

I used Scrolling Wallpaper 2.0 | themeDROID and then customised my own things, but all credit goes to the author of that method as that is what I used mainly.

Hope you enjoyed it.

I decided to take my love of all things minimal to a new level:

The clock on my home screen is a lot easier to see that it is in the screenshot. :)
