[App] Ice Cream Sandwich 2.4 Launcher - xda-developers

show off :p

I had a look at that launcher an see its built mostly off the honey comb launcher...of which I've tried a number of times and just never 100% satisfied due to the fc's I got alot and the fact it things like the running menu were highly inacurrate and if say I cliked email, it would attempt to run the default android email, not my 'defaulted' gmail..

so just got shot of it and put Launcher 7 on...much happier with that one..

Yes I mentioned that to him. Its hard coded not actual running apps. He said he'd implement that when he figures it out.

I can't say for sure, but it looks like the poster is using 'Widget Locker' found on the market which is a paid for custom lockscreen app.

It looks like they are using a custom skin for it, most likely found over at XDA, can't remember the name of it though off the top of my head.

And yes you can still use pattern/number security, on some phones though adding this on top of widget locker can 'sometimes' be a little problematic, least I found it was sometimes. It would occasionaly show the original lockscreen from the phone, or the home screen, or have a second lockscreen or just not work fast enough....but I stress this was sometimes and doesn't seem to happen to everyone though.

you are correct i am using widget locker with a custom slider but as for the other stuff i have no idea lol

Same, love the lockscreen but not the rest of it, unfortunately.

Would love to be able to get it on other ROMS

I know you can get that similar style lockscreen with widget locker from the market and a theme off XDA....but then that relies on an app of course rather than a built in lockscreen..

I said similar...not same :p

I did use a miui theme from XDA and it wasn't *TOO* bad in comparison with when I used MIUI the other week....but you are right, stock miui vs widget locker...no contest.

Been experimenting with some more deeper customizations. Replacement fonts and all that. Here's my current home screen:

The player is for DoggCatcher for my podcasts, not music. Font is a Helvetica derivative. Mainly for how it looks on the LauncherPro Widgets.

well heres mine....I briefly went back to GO launcher, then ASOP android launcher...then came full circle BACK to Launcher 7...

heres my one screen fully scrolled (hence why the background repeats as you cant take a full size screen shot of the list, only each 'panel' so to speak)..

the phonebook and games folders are live tiles which is pretty cool...very WP7 like...and the gallery 2x1 icon was done by me with my own pics...came out pretty good...the rest of the pics are a mix of default launcher 7, XDA thread pics and google searching lo

Not so much widgets as freedom

I have to agree. I tried Launcher 7 for about a week. Once I got my head around how to set it up how I liked,I felt it looked good, but missed so much. I'm a widget junkie, so this was a big downfall for me. Other thanks SPB 3D, I think I've tried all launchers now. Still always come back to Go as my launcher of choice.

well I still don't get the lack of freedom part, I mean thats the whole point of android...the *choice* to put on widgets or not...which the others lack..

I mean I don't know how much customizing can be done with windows phone 7 (not my launcher but the actual OS) in terms of icon changes, folders, arrangement etc...but I can change everything on mine, as well as hide apps just like the other launchers on android...

so basically I've changed from multiple screens from left to right to a single scrolling screen...I still have my weather widget :D lol oh and its live tiles with folders and contacts...and the calendar is live too, so shows me whats upcoming, though lately its been having problems, but then again launcher 7 is still in a alpha/beta style stage
