cud u plz tell me how to change the bottom DOC icons like urs, instead of the standard 3 button sense style?? does it need rooting? also the other icons are good too. whr to download it. the notification bar at the top with the time and all. has it vanished?? thanxx

Only got my home screen configured at the minute. Thanks to this thread for the help BTW. I will going back through it to help me with the other 6 screens!! lol.

This is where I got the new font, and the weather and the smooth calendar (transparent) versions.
The battery widget is BattStat and the clock is Tajm.
Also I am running LeeDroid 2.0a with this theme flashed Carbon EspressoMod ala BrightSilence v2.1(for official Froyo Sense based ROMs):

You can change the dock using LauncherPro from the market. This also lets you change the icons. No rooting required.
You'll have to root your phone for that.

The phone in the screen grab with the different battery indicator in the Notifications bar is using a custom ROM, I think. For that you need to root.

You need root. It's from the theme I mentioned in the post.

Just got me the Desire 2 days ago...and switched to Launcher Pro today. Gonna stick with it I think, very customizable.
1) Lock screen: Don't really need any widgets for that.
2) Home screen: Beautiful widgets (time & weather)
3) People screen: Beautiful widget people
4) Facebook & Reuters News Pro widgets (most unbiased news I found...great news app!)
5) Google search & Curvefish widgets...and Spotify as music player
6) Pure grid calendar
I was looking for a decent music player widget, but couldn't find one. I got Spotify Premium, so now I just downloaded a ton of CDs as offline playlists and I don't need a regular music player anymore.

Im using LauncherPro and no it doesnt need rooting
They are my own icons from years of using Stardock for Windows
I like them because they have a 3D like look and are no so flat looking like most of app icons
Thats part of LauncherPro app. It allows you to swipe the status bar up top to disappear

Are Lockbot & Widgetlocker basically the same thing?
lockbot(pro) allows you to change the lock screen style and unlock action (slide, swipe etc). you can also change the clock style and background.
widgetlocker allows you to do the above but also to add your favourite widgets to the lockscreen.

hey, after seeing all of these im really tempted to try launcherpro...
however when i do i can never get my screens to look how i want them too
so basically what would help is if somebody could tell me the following:
1. where to get an agenda widget as close to android one as possible, that will link to my google calander
2. full size weather widget
3. bookmark widget close to the android one, listed not pictures
4. where can i get a decent background for the dock as i dont like the standard one? preferably free as i'm trying to do everything at no cost
any help with these would be muchly apreciated

I am in a similar situation. I like launcher pro and what it does but there are no good apps out there that replace both the friendstream widget and the news widget.
Have tried pure messenger and found that really ugly and all the news ones were nothing compared to the inbuilt sense one.
Have been back and forth to Launcher Pro about 4 times now and have finally relaised I prefer sense. Gonna stick with that now, at least until I root then can change more.

This rooting stuff seems bit complicated. Worried abt something goin wrong and messing up my desire. I know rooted desire can be hugely customised compared to unrooted one. M not much literate in this area i guess. Will play for some more time with unrooted one with watevr options available.
A couple more screens for you....
Eris that is a great setup, how did you get your bottom dock to look like that? I have launcher pro so is this a pack file?
Also im assuming your using beautiful widgets? how did you manage to seperate the time colour and the weather colour
