Hmm, rebooting resets everything to the defaults for the active profile here. I tested it by setting the governor to pegasusq and smooth_scaling_level to 800MHz; neither persisted after a reboot.

Girl Guides honour.. on NEAT Full LSJ and have re-booted 5 or 6 times today and have still retained CPU MAX FREQUENCY, DEFAULT CPU GOVERNOR, BLN and DEFAULT I/O SCHEDULER that I had set.

UPDATE Just changed SMOOTH SCALING LEVEL to 800MHz (default) and rebooted and it has retained that as well.

Is anyone else retaining their Siyah v6.0beta4 settings in STweaks after a reboot... please!

Stweaks retains all settings for me on reboot too, and init.d scripts are working as I have my gestures working perfectly.

On the xda page, a small number are finding that settings are retained. Most are not. St tweaks apparently retains my settings on reboot. However gokan says this isn't accurate, and advices checking on set cpu or voltage control. When I do this the voltage control app shows the original siyah defaults, not my tweaks that appear in st tweaks. For those of you who really want to look into this, the xda forum shows you which system files to look into to double check.

Well I Got It Working :-)

Changed CPU Settings Just For Testing On AReset, Everything Stayed As I Changed It To.

Will try A Few Other Things and Reset Again, Will Let You Know If They Clear!

Oh well, of something on s kernel ain't gonna work, it's gonna effect me :-(

Bloody good otherwise. Battery already seems huge improvement. Happy days

Mine is now holding settings, I even had Voltage Control confirm this for the max CPU and voltage settings!. But I just want to say I did make all my adjustments in STweaks, having my phone in power saving mode did not adjust down my CPU below 1200.

This is what I did, but not saying it will work for all.

1. Install 6.0b4 (along with using Hawker Kernel wipe program)
2. Boot phone made adjustments.
3. Boot recovery and fix permissions
4. Boot phone and make adjustments all over again.

Then presto, the next time I rebooted my settings were still there.

Unfroze Voltage Control Extreme and my custom STweak settings are showing in it after reboot. Have saved the settings in VCE to be on the safe side.

The Syd K.o.D. (Kiss of Death), lives on! :vamp:

I'd take offense, but at least this time I'm not on my own.

Well give your order of ceremonies a blast to make sure though.

Settings retained here as well, I purchased Mobile Odin Pro (chainfire deserves it) to flash the tar. I couldn't flash the zip from recovery as my volume keys are still kaput, and the jeboo kernel isn't touch recovery (hand to face moment).

Battery noticeably better after two hours use. S tweaks back in use. :)

Decided to give this a whirl and after a few issues I'm up and running. I took Lotsip81's advice and fixed permissions, as my settings were being forgotten.

It's great to have Siyah back on my phone although I have to say it is nowhere near as smooth as Jeboo which I was previously using. I will stick with this though as I like the increased functionality and (hopefully) battery life.

My battery has been taking kind of a hit lately. The phone was off the charger for 15 hours, with the wifi on for about half of the time and is down to about 40%. Deep sleep is only running about 74% of the time but I have a couple of bigger kernel wakelocks and was wondering if you guy could give me some advice.

Thanks

Actually I went back to Jeboo as this one is just a beta version. After using Camera for just 5 Mins, From 100, battery went down to 40

That sounds like a battery calibration problem rather than anything more sinister. 60% battery depletion in five minutes has to be a false reading.

l2_hsic is the wakelock commonly found with unmatching RIL, I think. Are yours matching?
Can't help any further, sorry!

On a seperate note, just tried installing Siyah beta but get (Status 7) Installation aborted message. Cleared cache's, ran Kernel Wipe, fixed permissions & verification but cannot install?

What kernel are you coming from? Try flashing the .tar file version using Mobile Odin.

Coming from Philz that comes with Neat Rom JB as standard.

Will try Mobile Odin now see if that works, Thanks!

Edit: Yeah flashed no problems using Odin, Thanks. Looking forward to see how Siyah beta affects my battery

Certainly an improvement over Jeboo and with Dorimanx not really a viable alternative yet, Siyah is the frontrunner when it comes to battery life. Wifi is far less consuming and has made a big difference for me.

Can anyone report on battery life with siyah beta 4?
An addendum to my original question. What, if any, changes have you guys made with stweaks for better battery life and is camera, video etc working properly again? Ironass, i think you are on Siyah beta 4, arent u? It will be nice to have your input. Am considering flashing it today, finally making the switch from stock kernel... help will be appreciated.. Thank you, one and all and hope u all had a merry christmas, as i did :D Syd, good to see you are back after your mysterious hiatus :)

Hi dubey. All working on siyah beta 4. Some lucky ones like rusty bum finding tweaks on st tweaks are retained. Others such as myself are not. I reinstalled voltage control and used this for a bit of tweaking, but then froze my phone so wouldn't switch on. Was very conservative with my tweaks compared to the past, so not sure whether this was me or conflicts between voltage control and st tweaks. Any way, just sticking to default gok settings for now, and even without tweaking, the battery is epic.

Don't bother thinking about it, get it flashed!

My changes:

Smooth scaling level to 800MHz
Govenor set to Conservative
CPU Max Frequency set to 1000MHz
I/O scheduler set to Noop

That's it! Nothing too complicated but getting pleasing results. Camera is fine but video recording is a bit hit and miss. Bear in mind I use Camera Zoom FX. Have not tried stock camera.
