Which carrier? Each carrier has a version of it. If you have a sprint version and flash AT&T's update, you could brick the device.

t-mobile sir. i think t-mobile is blocking the software update to come in to the handset for the update, you think so?

yes and no. t-mobile is the one that puts the update out to their devices. some updates to the android os is not meant for all phones. for instance i have an evo 4g and it officially only has gingerbread. but looks like you should be getting it.

here is a link about ics

and i moved the thread to the s2 t-mobile forum.

Hi iroquios :hello:

So you have the SGH-T989 Galaxy S2?

If you can't get the update by selecting software update in the settings on your phone, you can try it with Kies if you haven't already.

Another easy way is to use Odin and install the update. Android 4.1.2 Jellybean is the latest update for this phone. ICS has been out a long time now.

I don't know of any reason T-Mobile would block an update to your phone.
