Sony Playstation 1 (PSX) on Android working and coming soon!

i have gran turismo on at the moment, although it has a weird problem - when the race starts, its like its constantly trying to shift between 1st and reverse when you accelerate!

you hold down accelerate and it wont go above 10mph - must be some sort of bug cos seems to affect the other cars too

i have the same issue w/ gt1. accelerator no worky. also, when ure in the career map, the music comes to a crawl. same goes for the garage.

i think i tried gt2 last night and it also didnt work.

however, ff7 runs 99.9% perfect. (stock evo).

Some games will most likely be incompatible. Thats part of the nature of emulation. Thats why I posted that both Midievil I and II do not work, so people don't go hunting them doen, only to be disapointed.

I think the ps1 emulation will always be a little choppy, but NES and gameboy emulation should be near perfect. (The gameboy emulator is fantastic, BTW!)

you mean psx not ps3.

yes i agree, older systems are easier to emulate.
i use GameBoid and it works great. buy the full version to add state saves/loads and support the developer :)

I can't get any game to work!
I've followed all guides from XDA and similar walktroughts. ECM procedure included.

It simply don't reacts.

Im not new on PSX emulation, and the games that im trying do work on other emus. All are in *.bin format.

Anyone in a similar situation?

This is so frustrating...

Anyone in a similar situation? :(
I have already tested more than 8 or 9 games, in *.bin, *.pbp, *.bin.ecm...

Is it working in any Android 2.1, "Eclair" for anyone?

Quick question, when you take a screenshot in app, where does it get saved? sorry, I don't have a USB lead etc with me so can't do a thorough search of the memory card. Thanks.

It saves to a folder in the root of the SD card called /screenshot/

Install a file browser if you don't have one already. (Astro or one of the others)

Tried out two games so far GTA< and Warzone 2100 which have both worked.

However.. why is there no option to at least remap the controls to reconfigure the L1/R1 L2/R2 controls?
Warzone 2100 works fine so far but it does have an option to select multiple units using L2, which you don't have.

Great first release though :D

at the momoent i wouldnt waste you money

Why not? It's not the emulator's fault you downloaded bad images that didn't work with it. I've told you on two or three seperate threads now that you just need to download roms that actually work, or rip your own. It's not right to criticise an app just because you couldn't figure out how to get it working. I guess you'll have left a low rating and negative comment on the market about it too. Is there any wonder why developers don't normally touch android if people just get refunds and and dissuade others from purchasing it when they can't figure something out?

I have a HTC desire which technically is near enough identical to a nexus one apart from me having the sense UI, and every single game I've tried so far worked:

Gran Turismo, Gran Turismo 2, Colin McRae Rally 2, Alundra, Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy, and so on...

How are you playing Gran Turismo 1? it goes from first to reverse gear everytime you accelerate.

And I'd forgotten that Colin McRae 2 was on PS1, loved that game on the PC back in the day, will be trying that out tonight :)

Go into the game's options screen, and reassign shift up and shift down to L and R buttons. Then drive in manual. Shouldn't have to do that as the accelerating in auto issue is odd, but this gets round it.

NICE!

That said, I wouldn't mind seeing your N64 emu pop up soon too. Was actually thinking about pulling my N64 out of storage, downloading the ROM and putting it on my V64JR (cartridge copier/player) and playing it on the N64 console but I don't spend much time in front of the TV so if I had it on my Android, I might actually finish it lol.

Quite the opposite on my Inc, as I posted in the compatability thread. Almost every game has loaded and only one so far has not worked after loading (Metal Slug X).

I am surprised how well most games I have tried play with sound and smooth with 30fps setting.

Could someone recommend a good emulator for the PC? I've ripped Star Ocean: Second Story and I need to see if my Droid is just not accepting it or if I have made bad images. Also, what does the emulator do for multi-disk games? Does it prompt you for the images of the other disks (thinking about FF9 here.)

epsxe is the main one i believe

Correct, though version 1.5.2 is the one to get since in newer releases the change disc function is broken. Still supports 90% of games even though it's not the final version.

As for playing multi disc games on this android emulator, the majority of them save the game at the disc changing point, so save your game then just restart the emulator using the next image instead. Should work in theory but I've not tried it yet.

erm ive got games working, but its far from perfect. should we all lie and tell him its spot on? it works perfect for you, well done.

and if you look hes asking about buying it for a cliq, youd recommend he buys for that yeh?

He should find out about what his handset could actually cope with, not disputing that, though you seem to be telling him not to bother until it's developed a bit more, just because you struggled to get it going on yours and seemed to immediately point the finger at the app rather than the user. You managed to unzip that troublesome zip file then?

is telling him not to buy yet not sound advice?
this isnt based on me struggling to get it working, its based on me trying some games on it and in my opinion isnt worth the money at this time. ive kept it and havnt refunded.
