Root [Sprint] [OUDHS] Soft Brick and CWM recovery support

Today is your lucky day. I decided that today was gonna be my day off, so it's my day on and boy am I on one. I'll assume you are using Windows, probably Vista or 7, so these instructions should work for you.
Make sure you have the most current Samsung Drivers installed on your computer.
Download this file and unzip it somewhere you want it. If you need an unzip utility 7zip is the best there is.
Once you have it unzipped navigate to the location of the contents and use shift+right-click to open a command prompt in the folder.
Your device should be on and running. On the device, go to settings--->developer options-->usb debugging, and enable it. Plug your device into the computer and wait for the drivers to install.
Now, back to the command prompt, which I will now call "cmd"---
Type [HIGH]adb devices[/HIGH]
You should get back a number followed by the word "device" If not, something was not done right in the preceding instructions. If you do get the expect return continue to the next step.
Type [HIGH]adb logcat[/HIGH] If you get a fast string of output that makes no sense to you at all you are doing it right! Press ctrl+c or ctrl+z to kill the output.
Now type [HIGH]adb logcat > mylogcat.txt[/HIGH] and perform whatever action is NOT WORKING normally, do it a couple times if you like pressing buttons and tapping screens. Again, press ctrl+c or ctrl+z to kill the output. If you are wondering why nothing seemed to happen, now it's time for the surprise!
Look in the folder with all the zipped files. There SHOULD be one called mylogcat.txt. Is it there? If so, that's what I want you to show me. If not, check again to make sure you understood and followed all the instructions. You can share that file with me through Dropbox or you can email me at the address on my profile.

I can't get TWRP or CWM to flash to the device. I keep getting "FAILED" on the Odin screen after a long while. Am I doing something wrong?

No, not sure what I was doing wrong. I just disconnected and reconnected the USB cable and it worked. Also closed and restarted Odin. Then it worked very quickly!
And about people saying after flashing TWRP that it goes to a grey screen and then to the Samsung logo when they try to boot into recovery..
Well they may be doing what I was doing. I held volume up and power to boot into recovery. I held those buttons waiting to see TWRP as you would on other phones. That just causes the phone to reboot as people are saying.
When you boot into recovery you must let go of the volume up and power button when you first see the green text that says "Booting into recovery"

I found the fix for the grey screen flashing before entering recovery, but I'm not sure if it can be implemented on the stock kernel/rom.
USB hassles can be a real downer. I buy them in bulk off eBay because I go through so many. My Victory has a flash counter of about 170 right now.

I would suggest trying some basics, like factory reset from recovery first. Pull the battery and replace it. Then hold volume up and power until blue text appears in the upper left corner. Let go and recovery should boot. Use volume to navigate and power to confirm. If that doesn't work you may need to flash the system.img again using Odin. I woild mot suggest using the file on my host without making sure you are on Android 4.0.4 first.
nothing happens when I go into recovery mode, goes black.

I feel bad suddenly that I didn't get back with you. I hope you got it worked out. If this were my job, I could tell my wife to take care of her own dad in the hospital and I'll make the money instead 
I need help guys 
I softbricked my phone by trying to flash a rom that was being debeloup but not yet tested. When I tryed to flash it it failed. And to make things mo re intence I didn't back up -_- no I'm stuck on a boot lopp but I can still use recovery(twrp v2.4.3.0) and download mode. I also tryed to restore nandroids that were uploaded but the folder wouldn't show up in the restore section :/

I have TWRP v2.1.1 on my Touchpad (using CWM on my Victory), so I'm sure the prompts are a little different, but is there a Mount menu that will let you try mounting your storage with the backups on it?

The serial number of the device must match the folder name for TWRP to find the backups; That is a safety feature to avoid flashing the wrong files. There are files available in the OP that will restore you back to stock. Once stock, go through the upgrade process to get back to jellybean. THEN, follow the instructions in the rooting guide.

then when I rebooted my device was softbricked and boot looped I then installed TWRP and it works great but when I deleted stock in favor of installing sprintorious it doesn't get past the samsung logo but CM10.2 10-29 boot animation showed up... I just want a working rom on this phone. I wanted to do this because i towelrooted my phone and I got the update available message it kept on nagging but when i went to install the update it'd fail...

you deleted the stock rom...? can you not read? sorry.. but its clearly stated at least a couple of times that Sprintorious isn't a rom, its only an update that removes some bloat and adds a couple things... so if you have deleted the stock rom your phone is now sort of bricked, because to get it working again you have to install the stock ICS rom using odin and OTA update back to ND4, (if you have one, a Nandroid backup it might work but it may also have issues, so thats why I suggest starting over.) of which there aren't any stable 100% working roms for the Sprint Victory, so if you don't need LTE or some other possibly broken features, then supposedly the Virgin Mobile roms mostly work on the Sprint phone so you can try that if you want but, next time though.. do as the devs say... Read, Read and Read some more... as it saves the both of us unnecessary trouble.
i know this device might be old but i was novice to samsung roots and flashes was mainly motorola and with curiosity with android we all want user permissions, I rooted obtained root than i attempted flashing a rom but i did not know some simple rules.
I didnt pay attention to the steps to flash the rom i needed several roms before it i flashed victorious in it mid stage i think b and it bootlooped my phone so i used my recovery twrp and wiped system and dalvik everything else i followed your steps and it failed please help might also need help posting a screenshot

well first off do you have a sprint or a VM victory? because your profile says VM, yet you're posting in the sprint section... (that and also you mentioned victorious) so I don't get why you're posting here... go ask the VM guys.. secondly I'm not sure I understand what your issue is..? you flashed a wrong rom, then flashed victorious and it bootlooped so you wiped your phone?
