Help spritn PRL on boost(airave)

from what i gather from my researching this it allows you to connect to more towers. Sprint gives priority to its post payed customers on the towers and im only assuming that this is controlled in part by the PRL so if you load the sprint prl you would in turn be on a sprint post payed signal. I was able to have the phone see the airave "tower" when i had a sprint PRL on the phone but it would not allow me to make calls with it

I can confirm this to be true because I use to have crappy reception on the first floor of my house. But, since I changed my PRL to a Sprint post-paid PRL, my reception rarely goes below 3 bars on the first floor and I have full signal everywhere else.

I would try to find another link.... I had to try 3 or 4 links before finding a good one, and then I had to download WinRar to open it. Lol

@agadida If you dowload it straight from cdma-ware dot com, you should be good on the alert. According to a readme file included, it's a false positive if you've downloaded it from their site.

Not sure if it matters but i have debugging on

CDMA workshop(dont ask me. ask google)

on the phone dial ##8778#

enter msl code(google how to get msl with connectbot)

change it to USB

open cdma workshop and change the port# to the port your phone is on

click connect then read (after this it should say ready in the bottom of CDMA workshp window)

Go to the security tab and send the defult samsung password
should say phone is unlocked

go to others tab and select write prl
chose the .prl file you want to use and write it to the phone

close cdma workshop with the X and it will ask you something about sending a command to the phone just except this and the phone should reboot.

Is there any other way of flashing the PRL to the phone? My trial for CDMA Workshop has expired and QPST give me read/write errors when I try to use it.

I may be wrong, but I think that there are several other programs out that are kind of like CDMA WORKSHOP. I'm not sure if any of them offer a free trial though. The best answer that I can give you right now considering that I'm not at my p.c. at the moment is to possibly Google it.

Prl 60681 works perfectly! i have service downstairs in my home where I did not before.. also download speeds of 1500kbps +.... I wonder if there would be a advantage to using the 01120 prl...

I used the 60681 before switching over to the 01120, and they are very close in reception outside, but 01120 seems to work just a little bit better for me. I work in a manufacturing plant, and when I had 60681 loaded, I averaged 1 bar deep inside the plant. After I loaded 01120, I'm averaging 2 bars to full reception everywhere. The 01120 PRL might not work as well for everybody though, but for me it did.

Would it be possible to get verizon PRL on the Prevail?
I know that the Prevail doesn't roam, but i was wondering if you change it to verizon(if thats even possible) will you have any coverage at all?

I tried a Verizon Prl once. It looked promising, but quickly lost all service.....

How do.us find out the port that the phone is I'm

I knew it wasnt working for cm7(my rom) but was hoping for some better news.

Sorry for the bad news... you do always have the option to make a backup and then Odin back to flash the PRL, and then revert back to Cyanogenmod. I know it's like pulling teeth from a lion, but we have to do what we have to do....

Not worth it. I get good service for the most part.

I am running CTMOD 2.3 and i have been tryin to get this to work and i just cant do it... i get it to connect to com6 and then it reads it and shows up as USB and then i go to the security tab and try the password that says "samsung (sprint)" and guessing thats the default code... and it says "failed... phone does not answer" i have also looked up the password and typed it in and still nothing.

So what am i doing wrong... ive tried puttin in USB right b4 i open cdma and ive done it with cdma open and it says the same thing... ive also tried it with usb debugging off but the phone can not even connect that way so i know thats not it.

i hope that someone can help me out with this, thanks

FYI... I am using CDMA Workshop v3.8.0

The phone has to be in airplane mode with debugging on for it to connect. Try the same steps, but add the airplane mode, and it should work.

i have it in airplane mode with debugging, tried switching to usb just before opening, nothing works to connect my prevail to CDMAWS. what am i doing wrong? what kind of time frame do you use to judge when to switch to usb?

How do i figure out what port my phones on????

honestly, this stuff isnt all that difficult but explanations are always to vague and alot of the times the tut's assume that the user knows wtf they are doing. If they are using the tut chances are we dont know what we are doing.

Are prls regional cause I read one post saying to use a site for baton rouge to keep up to date on prls... Im in chicagoland and i doubt those prls would work for me. Doesnt matter what I google I cant find a way to find a decent prl for myself.

also has anyone posted about how to find out what your msl is and is it specific to the phone or can I use some tutorial for any phone?
