Root Step by step Root walkthrough for Huawei Fusion 2

it said a demon materialized during poot, and to restart my device to play again...wtf?

I got the same message this method of rooting does not seem to work. So far the only rooting guide i have found that worked is Shargety's any others are either broken Eg. z4root, universal androot, and poot or not as well written and much more complicated than Shagerty's guide, which when followed with proper equipment takes ~2 minutes. (not including download times)

ok, it tells me that "fastboot devices" is not a proper command or batch file...(not exactly those words, but that's what it's saying.) I was unable to get the drivers from your link, they download and open but I couldn't get the driver to install so I found my own from the Huawei website. So I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here.

i used the drivers ZeRoseDev put in his dropbox. I suggest trying this one instead of the one in Shagerty's file which didn't seem to work for me. :frown: sorry Shagerty but the .exe didn't work properly.

I can post the file on dropbox, give me 5, and I will edit this post with my dropbox link.

**Here is the Handset WinDriver.. It is an .exe, it was dragged directly from my phone to Dropbox.

I have the Root Guide updated with the proper Drivers as provided by ZeRoseDev! Hope everyone enjoys the new look of the guide as well did some formatting!

Rooting the Fusion 2 Step by Step, by Shagerty

Step 1 : Download this file here.

Step 2 :Put the Huawei Fusion 2 Recovery Root.zip on your desktop.

Step 3 :Download and install the Huawei Fusion Drivers. Install By running the .exe here.

Step 4 :Make a folder called "Huawei Fusion 2" on your desktop.

Step 5 :Extract Zip from step 2 into your fusion 2 folder.

Step 6 :Turn off phone.

Step 7 :Reboot fastboot by holding Volume Down and Power buttons simultaneously for 10-20 seconds.
(It will freeze at ATT logo. This is fastboot, it's a freeze to be happy about)

Step 8 :Connect phone to computer.

Step 9 :Open the folder you made and open the extracted zip (if you haven't extracted do this now)

Step 10 : Double click "Run Me"

Step 11 :Type "fastboot devices" and hit enter this will confirm if you are connected via fastboot (you are) if your connected it will list some numbers and letters and the words fastboot next to the numbers and letters.

Step 12 :Now flash modified recovery by typing "fastboot flash recovery recovery.superrecovery.img" into the "run me" window and hitting enter.

Step 13 :Unplug after the process runs says finished. And gives you the total time.

Step 14 :Remove back of phone and take out battery for 10-15 seconds.

Step 15 :Reinsert battery hold volume up and power button simultaneously until it boots into recovery (15-20 seconds of holding both buttons)

Step 16 :Reboot Device by selecting the "reboot device" option with the volume buttons (it should already start with reboot highlighted) so just press the power button to reboot.

Step 17 :Grab a beer and relax as your device reboots with SuperSU (main root app)!

Enjoy and thanks to robotic buddy for initial guide and download links, also special thanks to RFE for the 1st Root method on the Huawei Fusion 2!

*********IF IT SAYS WAITING FOR DEVICE, IT IS ONE OF FOUR THINGS;

1) YOU DID NOT PUT THE PHONE INTO FASTBOOT CORRECTLY GO AHEAD AND REPEAT STEP 7 THEN RETRY,

2) YOU SIMPLY NEED TO UNPLUG AND REPLUG PHONE AND WAIT APPROXIMATELY 25-30 SECONDS (SHOULD HAPPEN IMMEDIATELY UNLESS DRIVERS WHERE INSTALLED INCORRECTLY),

3) INCORRECTLY INSTALLED ADB DRIVERS, REINSTALL THE ADB DRIVERS FROM STEP 3,

4) YOU DID NOT NAME THE FOLDERS CORRECTLY, OR DIRECTED THE CMD TERMINAL TO THE WRONG FOLDER, MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW EVERY STEP TO A T INCLUDING CAPITALIZATIONS, SYMBOLS, AND SPACES OF FOLDERS AND CMD PROMPTS*********
Still did not work.

Step 12 :Now flash modified recovery by typing "fastboot flash recovery recovery.superrecovery.img" into the "run me" window and hitting enter.

from that step 12, its seems to flash a recovery.img in this phone. I have a CWM v5.0..2.8 installed and it able to backup and install rom in which some of recovery don't. Just wonder by flash this superrecovery.img in, can it change the CWM and can this CWM able to backup rom instead?

I answer my question.. And it erase my CWM v5.0.2.8 and now it shows up with android system recovery 3e after flash.

Well, since it my nieces' phone and she don't care for CWM

I used the Y201 CWM on this Fusion 2 and it work.. I can backup/retore not like the Huawei Fusion 2 can't backup/rstore. Like us whom spent 1hr to root, install app from app store and delete Crapware from the phone and want to backup our hard work.

I'm glad you got it working.

Has anyone got it rooted yet?
Because when i click on the links, it says there is nothing in the dropbox

Hello Tiffany

A lot of people, including myself, have achieved Root using this method. In my opinion, it is one of the easiest ways to Root the Fusion 2, and when I used this guide, I was absolutely new to Rooting, and pretty new to Android as a whole.

By following the instructions to the letter, you will get Root access.

If you have any questions, or run in to troubles, just post the question here, and you're sure to get the answer.

When you do get Root access, please leave a comment on this thread stating that you have, it's always good to hear when it is a success.

:)
