Root Still can't unroot my Evo's Unrevoked 3! Please help!

ok so i do not think you are on the right screen. to get to hboot, power the phone off then press and hold power+vol down. that is the hboot screen. it is programmed to automatically scan for the PC36IMG file.

Thats what i dont understand, I know what the boot loader screen is and I know that it should be scanning, but it isnt. That is the problem. I am not a n00b at this kind of stuff. I just need help because more minds are more powerful.

Are you on the stock rom now? Try a factory reset under settings>privacy. It should delete everything besides the stock apps

I seem to be having this same problem. hboot says s-on. So I should continue to keep flashing s-on zip and going back to hboot to see if pc36img asks me to install update?

2.02
and used the correct link from "dummies" thread.
flashed s-on first, then followed all steps. usb through recovery, so I could transfer pc36img to phone. bootloader screen displayed a status bar on the right side that went from empty to filled (said loading pc36img.zip). Then said checking for pc36img.zip. Didn't prompt me to select yes or no.

s-on remains on and can still use setcpu and other root apps.

1.ok so try this file: MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service
2.rename it by erasing everything but PC36IMG. do not add a .zip
3.transfer it to the root(no folder) of the sd card.
4.power off then press and hold power+vol down
hboot should see it if is named correctly and on the root of the card.

I'll give it a try, but this is the exact file I downloaded an hour ago.

(my wifi is slow, will take a good while to download again). Read this thread and the other unrooting ones. Since it's a good chance you may be offline when it finishes... anything else I should try if it fails to unroot?)Thanks.

edit

T-minus 30 min.

when you are in hboot does it try to automatically scan for a PC36IMG file? it should say no image or wrong image found. does it do something like that?

yes automatically scans. shows "sd checking" then another line of checking and last line says loading pc36img. That's when status bar begins to fill w/ a blue bar (top to bottom ). Status bar fills, and lastly it says checking pc36img.zip, then nothing else. (re-shows normal hboot screen)

sd checking
loading pc36img.zip
no image
loading pc36DIAG.nbh
no image or wrong image
Loading pc36img.zip

That's what it says.

(5 min til new download is done)
