Root Stuck at bootloader

im just being helpful and helping out a fellow android entusiast on how to go about getting his phone taken care of. it wasnt his fault it got ruined. so he shouldnt be to blame for it, accidents happen that we cannot control, and if someone knows of a solution to help when an accident occurs that the individual was unable to prevent. then we should help

im no saint as my name voidedsaint but if someone needs help and i know how to get them help from things i have learned, then i will tell them, i wont hold any harsh feelings.

i sat my eris down on a table and the sweat from my coke wondered to it cause i had the back cover off (still to this day dont know why) and it touched the water damage indicator. and that indicator is in the worst spot for an accident. so i found ways around it and i used them. and i do not mind showing anyone how to go about fixing an issue like that

Actually, it was his fault and he should be to blame for it.

I don't intend that in a mean way, but if you drop your phone into a glass of water - or if you son drops his phone into a glass of water - it is not a warranty issue and Verizon and Motorola should not be paying for the replacement. It sucks and I'm sorry it happened, and I would be pissed off... but I wouldn't clean up the water indicator and take it back to the store.

I really, really don't understand the sense of entitlement. Again, we all have moral choices to make so make your own decisions, but justifying it as if it should be okay and you're entitled to a replacement...?

this is why I pay for asurion (or whatever the spelling is) insurance.... from what I gather I could take a dump on my phone and call to get a replacement I just have to pay the deductible

Supposedly, yes. Though my dad had it for his Pearl a million years ago and they cancelled him after the first claim. Jussayin.

yeah i've heard before of people getting cancelled after their second claim. I've never had to use it. the one time my phone ever actually did have an issue it was a documented manufacturer issue (the bottom half of the screen on the X was completely blank) so it was a replacement through verizon not the insurance.
anything else thats happened to it has been through me doing things which either a backup or sbf fixed

Yeah, this is my second X because the first had a super soft power button, camera issues, and reception issues. VZW sent me a new one no problem.

be careful with the insurance...my Mother and younger siblings are on a family plan...and my sister has had quite a few problems with her Blackberry...i can't remember exactly what went wrong with the phone this particular time..but they told my mom that it would not be covered...after talking with a bunch of people, she finally had a service rep tell her that if you have any doubts about them not accepting a return that you should just call and tell them the phone was stolen

You seem like an honest guy. I recommend you remove your sd card, pour some gasoline on the phone and light it on fire. Then have a friend pick it off the ground and walk far away until you can't see him anymore.

Then go to Verizon and tell them "someone walked off with my phone" :)

there is no odor left behind, if you dont believe me try it out, and wait for it to dry, it does take a while to color the whole thing, so be patient. but if you think it leaves an odor, post it here, then go test it out and tell me if it does :)

i know the answer to does it or not :p
Can the nailpolish remover be apllied and work wih back cover on,or does whole phone need to be taken apart?

the only thing i can think of is to try to SBF the phone...but it might be a goner...
