Root Sweet I did it

I am running .340
I went ahead and flashed my back up, then flashed apex acording to the instructions by fab.
I had it media error right after boot up on apex, but other then that it seems to be much better now. I'm not sure what happened on the first try.
I am know making a nandroid of the way I have apex all set up, that way I can flash other roms and if I dont like them just go back to apex. Which is what I have heard alot of people do.
Thanks for all the help.
Now for the themes for apex I just dowload them throw them on the sd card and bootstrap, install zip from sd. I dont have to clear or wipe data?
I know this sure is getting me alot of practice. I took a pic of my homescreen and sent it out to my buds with X's and they all want me to hook them up now....lol
I'll post it up when I'm done with my nandroid.

Here it is...thanks to all that helped me on this.

For some reason I cant get microbes LWP to come up anywhere. I go to terminal emulator and type what fab says but it doesn't come up. Also I wish I could get the battery percentage to work. Having trouble with that also.
Last but not least, I seen a really cool signal strength icon for the notifiction bar that had more bars then the one now. I think it was watermark for gummy. Does anyone know where to get that icon or if its even possiable?

Ok so I go into terminal imulator and type
su
then microbes
it says type -in to install
in
file not found
What gives?
Does the same thing for the keyboards?
Do I have to download the zips or are they already with 1.3.1?
The overclock works fine.

Thegummyjar
I really like the signal icon on that gummyjar. Wish I could get it on apex.
Gummy will be the next rom I try.

Well I just got up enough courage to root my phone. I used z4root and it went thru with no problems.
I did a back up. So now I'm thinking about a ROM. I like the black notification bar. I'm thinking about gummyjar or apex. Just have to read up a little more on them and the process.
Thanks for all the good info on here and all the work you guys do with these phones.

Congrats! Its a great feeling, and honestly you will be shocked at what a ROM will be able to do for your phone. The device comes alive!

Personally I really like liberty or apex. They are both great roms. For a first rom i think apex would suit you best. It has awesome battery life, and comes with a lot of the blur stuff that you are probably accustomed to. I really loved that rom and even will prob switch back at some point.

Also I would highly suggest jrummy's droid overclock app, adding a couple hundred Mhz while lowering voltage really does increase phone response and performance as well.

Once you create a nandroid backup, and then backup apps and data using titanium backup you have nothing to worry about.

Soon as you flash your rom you will tell your phone your google account and it should sync all your contacts and stuff automatically. So don't worry when you have to wipe or something prior to installing the ROM. If you havnt checked sign into your google account and double check all your contacts are there.

If not go into syncing and set your phone to sync with your gmail.

Ok quick question
What app are you guys using to upload pics to facebook?
I use to use the blur app and now that its gone I'm not seeing anything to upload with?
