Root System update

It's easy to block adds at the hosts level on a pc as well. I use peerguardian on Linux.

I believe it's available on Winblows as well.

And Firefox Android has adblock extension just like the pc version.

If Firefox for Android has the adblock extension available, I wonder what Google's next move will be.

I can confirm it does work rooted
Yes, I know, but having a stock unrooted ROM and recovery available for users that want to follow the unlimited.io procedure more closely would be helpful. If you are already updated to the March OTA and rooted, then flash the stock unrooted ROM and recovery, I don't know how unlimited.io could tell the difference versus flashing the RUU.

Of course they may not support the 1.58 stock hboot for VM users which would make getting help from them with both OTA's installed moot. It will be interesting to see what happens with the first attempt at the wire trick by someone who is S-OFF and has taken both OTA's.

It's upping :)

Ramjet, so I can just flash your PG86 zip and not worry about it? I'm running G60's new rom with S-OFF. Fairly new at this is why I ask. And do think it's worth the trouble? Thankyou.

That should be fine.

The only reason for S-OFF users to flash the full OTA is if you want an updated version of the stock ROM and now you can use nega's stock ROM zip file for that.

Here's an update on the kernel issues.

This post on XDA by the developer of the mirage kernel indicates that it's possible to get alternative kernels working with the updated ROM, but his kernel is mostly stock. Maybe the info he posted about WiFi drivers will help the other kernel developers make theirs compatible as well, although his comments mostly relate to problems sleeping and not starting WiFi.

I sure hope so.

after RUU and full updates, you can adb pull /system and just zip the folder up. Like I said, I'll knock it out later today no problem

I will include the boot.img also

Would do it right now, but all file host sites are blocked on my work network, cannot use adb, and usb ports r devicelocked so all they function for is charging

Jeez. Where do you work, the Pentagon?

Ramjet' what's the best way to install your zip? I tried thru recovery and nothing happend. Ant thru bootloader again nothing. Do I have to rename it something else?

I am waiting to get a better feel in if it is going to bork buttered toast before flashing since that is the stick kernel on negarom.

It should be installed by the bootloader after placing it in the root of your SD card. Make sure the file is named exactly "PG86IMG.zip" as sometimes a download to Windows will add an extra ".zip" extension.

There shouldn't be any problem when flashing BT with another ROM, only the stock ROM after the March OTA update is applied, and then WiFi apparently has a problem. We still don't know why.

Thankyou, 2end time worked and I didn't change a thing. Virgin's service still suck's and I have a tower just about in my back yard.:D

Ran a couple benchmarks with the 2.95OTA and Mirage Kernel.

Just confirming broken WiFi with Anthrax 3.7.0 on stock. On AlienDroid 0.1 Beta, the camera breaks with Anthrax 3.7.0, but WiFi continues to work fine. I recommend sticking with stock kernels until these issues are resolved.

I'm assuming you meant Anthrax 3.7.0? ;)

Flashed through bootloader. No problems. Did not have any issues on the reboot of it bootlooping or anything so was easy to get back off the SD card. Running NegaBlue rom with BT kernel and wifi is still working. Does the PMG zip not have the connection checker? Looked in the settings/mobile network but do not see it anywhere unless I missed it.

That's part of the updated stock ROM not the firmware. If you want to see it flashing one of nega's stock rooted ROM's will make it available.

Nope - no interest in seeing the thing everyone is trying to get rid of that never showed up on my phone :p
