So i messed around with my wifi security and changed it from wpa-psk to wpa-psk and wpa2-psk and now i can connect and wifi works. Not sure what happened but im happy

My problem with the Wifi is that my phone no longer sleeps when connected to a wifi network. They 'fixed' wifi all right....
 
I cant begin to tell you the increase in battery life I have gotten. I did the update two days ago and the battery lasts 12+ hours with moderate use now. Thats 10 - 15 calls, Checking Wordwise every 30 minutes, syncing Exchange (as comes in) and Gmail.

I dont know what they changed, but something was pulling on the battery heavy for all of us, and HTC seems to have figured it out.
 
I'm still having trouble rooting. I did the update last night and the screen went black till' I restarted it twice.

Fantastic idea. My phone was just fine with unrevoked. Ran like a well oiled machine.

so glad I held off on updating. I'm pretty happy with the performance of my EVO and having WiFi tethering beats everything

would still be nice if the unrevoked guys could come up with and update to include OTA2 with Sprint's WiMax fix
 
I am having SERIOUS lag and overall terribly slow performance issues post update. I've tried everything to speed it up but it feels like my old Pentium 4 desktop did before I upgraded to a quad core a couple months ago. So much delay trying to operate.
 
after the update my speaker sounds like sh*t.. its all crackley?? it could have just gone bad the same day i did my update but it sounds very bad notifications ringers, music everything anyone else have this or do you think my speaker is blown?
 
There's no way to downgrade? I just f***ed myself? It lags a little more, I don't use tethering that much but I HAVE used it - it's seriously not working? On all the updated ones? I'm testing the battery right now, I'll post charts later.
 
Dang, I just downloaded it [version 1.473.651.1 (30.15MB)] but I think I am going to click Install LAter and wait for more results.
 
my update hasnt caused any problems, maybe its just a coincidence but my battery life seems to be a huge improvement from before.
 
for the person with the crackling sound, have you tried updating the prl and profile? I had that issue when I FIRST got the phone and did those two things and it was fixed! I don't know if this update did it again to mine because I did those again right after (and before trying the phone) but my call quality is fine after the update.

My screen will timeout, but yeah, awake time keeps on ticking...
Battery 73% awake time 14:44:50 when I turned the screen off at 7:05 PM, Battery 70% awake time 15:30:55 when I turned it back on at 7:50. At least it doesn't seem to be using very much extra battery.
 
I think I may be one of the lucky EVO owners, since after installing the new system upgrade yesterday evening, everything is working better than ever! The installation went okay, except that 2 of my widgets needed to be removed and reinstalled.

I've had my EVO (HW version 0003) since June 14th and the battery life was always poor, but now it seems to be much better. I don't have any quantitative proof, so this is just a subjective statement on my part. :)

Also, my EVO "had" the screen sensitivity issue, where the top portion wasn't responding when placed on a non-conductive surface (e.g. on top a wooded desk, on a mattress, etc.). After the the upgrade, this problem seems to have disappeared completely. So now, I have a fully functional EVO with no issues at the moment.

It seems to run faster...Battery increased.

I got like 25 hours on a full charge..constantly texting and surfing over 3g

Are you talking about Menu->Settings->Wireless->Wi Fi Settings->Menu->Advanced->Wi Fi Sleep Policy???

If so it only has 3 options
-15 min
-never when plugged in
-never

Does 15 minutes start after screen asleep?
If so that would be fine with me. Darned hard to find tho...
 
Update has extended my battery life...had no issues with any programs...battery life probably increased at least 50%...still have 30% available and I took it off charge 18 hours ago...before the update would have had to be on charger several hours ago.
 
When you say that tethering doesn't work anymore...does that include PDANet not working anymore?
I'm still holding out. (non-rooted)
 
Can ANYONE inform me as to how to re install launcher 2.1? Or tell me how to change icons using something other than default launcher. Thanks!
