Root The petition made phandroid news!!

Moto is aware of the petition. There's no comment on it at this time, but if the goal was to get it on their radar screen, it is. I just don't see them unlocking because it's not just them that wants the phone locked down. The carriers will insist on it as well.
 
unlocked bootloaders means custom kernels for overclocking, multitouch, etc. also means custom roms, cyanogen, miui, etc.

unlocked bootloader means an open phone.
 
i'm shocked at how many signatures its gotten so fast. when I signed last week there were just over 1500...let's keep it going.

It probably won't do anything but it can't hurt to try!
 
the motorola facebook page is hammered with bootloader requests....lol....
 
For the record...I signed and want so badly to be wrong about my assumption. I don't use FB so I'm not sure what is going on there but I'm glad to see people making a big deal on social networking sites. Hell, SN has been a major weapon for the recent uprisings.
