The phone that hyped you up the most

What's your most anticipated phone that had you looking up videos, reviews, or any information possible before it reached your hands?

For me, it would have to be the Samsung A900 a.k.a the blade. I had just turned 18 when the blade was going to hit the market, and I was ready for a contract phone. While I liked the thinness of the Razr, everyone and their mothers had one, so I wanted something different but similar to it. I spent countless hours on sprintusers and other various websites looking up info. I can remember like it was yesterday when the UPS truck drove down my street with the phone. I sprinted across the street without even looking for traffic. The driver must have thought I was a maniac when he made his way to the front of the truck and he seen me with my 2 feet on the bottom step of his truck. I signed for the package, and ran back to my room. When I opened up the box, it seemed like there was an aura around the phone. Best Day Ever.

I've never really gone crazy over a phone as my first phone was just a random flip phone my dad picked out at the store and my second, which is my current, I made the mistake of picking it out randomly at the store before actually doing research lol. This is before I was into the smartphone world. Right now, I'm hoping for a Verizon Galaxy S II, but it has yet to happen. Hopefully Verizon will carry the S III.

I still have that first phone that was all the hype back in the day when I got it, the Motorola StarTAC:

Really small and cool looking flip phone. Of course, I had the analog version (digital cellular was just coming out at that time), and if you think todays smartphones have poor battery life, than you never used something like this! Analog cellular is a battery hog, and this phone had a small battery, so those two come out to 12 hours standby/15 minutes talk time, lol! A car charger was an absolute necessity for this thing if you wanted to ever use it, lol! But it was cool as hell!

the htc hero.. was good... but it showed me what I did need in my next phone..

enter the supersonic .. EVO 4G... i was reading everything i could on that phone.. reviews.. vids.. user experiences.. etc...

I didn't really know jack squat about phones. I always got the cheap ones from metro pcs. Last year I got the droid x and really started looking at phones differently. The only one i really followed the whole way through was the "NEXUS PRIME". I even watched the unveiling. It was awesome. I now have it and its.... Still Awesome enough :D

You beat me to it, Hrethgir. I loved that phone. :o It was the first one that brought the sound of the human voice to my ear on a phone that didn't have the quality of Donald Duck's voice. :D Beautiful sound, I was very impressed.

It did get hot around the battery area during long calls. I also had to replace the antenna once as I somehow broke off the original one.

I broke about 4 of my antennae. :D

First the Treo 700P (my first smartphone).

Then the BB Storm until I read the user feedback.
Next was the Samsung fascinate, until I read about the GPS issues.
Finally the Droid Bionic, until I read about the pixelation.

For me I would say the LG Voyager. I had the LG V before it and was so happy to get a phone with a huge touch screen at the time...by the time I upgraded to the OG Droid I was happy to get a phone with a functional touch screen :D

I broke about 4 of my antennae. :D

I finally got a 3rd party antenna for the StarTac that was stronger, shorter/stubbier in the down position and was wound for better reception.

That worked, but it was only a few months later that I started to notice other phones coming along, and ended up tossing it into a drawer in favor of a Blackberry, then the Samsung Instinct (my "gateway to Android" phone ;)).

I am going to have to go with my addiction. First device I bought on launch day. I am still hyped about it, searching for tidbits of news regarding it every day...

I'm not sure if any of you guys remember this.....

This was the bad boy back then.. oh, those days. :)

Easy, the Gnex. The epic thread says it all. I had a lot of personal time, enthusiasm, excitement, heart and soul invested in the event of its coming.

The Motorola Star Tac electro capacitance. First ever electronic luminescence display. I was in CCU with pneumonia recovering when a time magazine was given to me not even 10 pages in there was the ad. Called my cell provider and they just got it. She felt sympathy for me gave me an upgrade free and super next day air. 8am the next morning it was in my hospital room . she even gave me a free holster

One of these babies...

I dunno if any of you will remember when these were really popular?

They were big back in the day...

xD

Well, I was pretty pysched about the Bionic. Followed all the prerelease stuff. Bought it on launch day, but was pretty disappointed with it.
But, like Steven said, the Galaxy Nexus thread says it all!
