Root The road to Android ICS 4.0 on the Triumph

oh ok. if you dont mind me asking... why though?

Well, believe it or not, I'm trying to scale back on doing development. If I wasn't going develop anymore, I figured I shouldn't have the title.

Plus, I don't like having a title. I just like being the same as the rest of you guys, lol. It makes sense to have a badge if you're a moderator, guide, or admin (because you need to be visible), but not so much for a dev. If you can help out, then you shouldn't need a badge to tell people you can! Just my 2 cents.

sounds fair enough to me! but IMO i think that you deserve to be recognized for what you did/are doing. lol and if i wasnt 15 with no job, i'd donate all the money you'd ever need for the ultimate dev equipment. (computer, software, phones, etc.) and i highly appreciate everything you do for this device... you took a already good phone and made it better! which i didnt think was possible!!! :D

I haven't made any attempts at getting a replacement (too busy). When I figure out all the right details, I'll ask VM for a new one.

I have a nice Triumph user who is willing to donate her Triumph, so that's another possibility.

If your phone was activated and you have your phone number and the account name with it....you should be good for a replacement under warantee....it doesn't matter who bought it or where they bought it.... it's good till July 2012 without any other paper work....When you get the replacement phone you can charge your battery and put it in the old phone to reset it to factory if you didn't. Then go thru the new phone to make sure anything your developing with works on the stock rom,
To get a replacement call VM customer service at 888-322-1122....call from any phone .... just tell them the phone number your calling about or just the phone if you ported your number back to another phone... and the name on the acc't...... VM has been great with their customer service and they will wait up to two weeks to get back your old phone after you get the replacement. They even pick up the postage....The only thing that could be better is the reliability of the phone....especially the usb port...

Am new here...and happy owner of our "beloved" device. Have formally lurked for months following TG's and issacj87's work. Previously worked at Apple...in Tech Support dept. I am motivated that ICS could be ported to this device. What little I know, it would meet min HW req for the OS. I feel the need to do what little I can to assist this effort, if it in fact is to come to fruition. I have some ideas to technically enhance the movement. They obviously involve the main developer here, and possibly the admin's of this specific forum. Believe this to be a win-win, from corporate involvement to the end-user. I, however, feel a little like I am on the "yellow brick road" and don't know where to go next? Suggestions?

I'm not a dev by far, but I'm an old computer guy (both references) whose been around the block since Motorola's "brick" mobile phone and the floppy disk was where the OS resided. If you're looking to take a step forward and developing this further, let us know and we can put something together in a pot for you so that you have the tools to continue onwards to ICS.

These days, I regret not getting involved with linux a decade ago or I'd take the banner and run with it myself. As it is, I may try and destroy my phone anyway because I really want to see ICS on this device.

There are many folks who lurk these forums or simply dont have anything valuable to add to the conversation but frequent it often to see how it develops. I'm one of those folks.

But today I'd like to say my peace. I really appreciate the effort, please don't stop developing ICS for the MT. Whatever you need, including time, please let us know.

And thank you.

Thank you Issac for all your hard work with cm7. It keeps me busy and I can't wait for ice in the my. I hope you will allow donations again soon.

You never needed the badge, You are quite known by name and work alone. I've even mentioned you a few times myself as this phone was bought by me specifically for your work. It was nice that you got the badge though, You really truly earned it with your helpfulness and all the work you've done for us. Whatever makes you happy; Be it developing or not, Having a badge or not, Etc. ^.^

You deserved the title not because you are developing now but because even if you stopped all together, Your old work is still used.....Everywhere!!! =D (I am still MIUI'ing it myself)

You still going through your finals?

Guys and Gals, let's remember to stay on topic here and keep it constructive.

The goal is ICS on the Triumph, let's work towards that and keep this thread focused.

As an aside (yeah, I suggested staying on topic and went off topic myself ) if you have an issue with someone either PM them to clear things up or hit that little !Report button to the left and let the mods take care of it.

I want ICS solely for the face unlock. >_<

There was a product being touted a while back named "BioLock" that never got finished. D:

Same here, I use it as well., only I set it for apps, how do you set it for the phone?

There is an option in the Visidon set up for Lockscreen (Beta). I can't seem to figure out how to get only the lockscreen feature though. I always have to unlock the phone and then the face recognition lockscreen pops up.

I have the paid version

Oh, OK. Well, I tried out the free version this morning after I saw the post by bryanjbenn. In the settings there is the setting for Lockscreen Beta like cdtatum08 spoke about but it was grayed-out and not choosable in the free version so I couldn't test it out. Sorry, I just assumed you had the free version like I had and that's why the Lockscreen option wouldn't work for you.

This comes up whenever I Google search "ics triumph"
ICS-Triumph-RC1.zip (mediafire download, don't be afraid to click the link, just don't download it)
I'm sure it's not legit, most likely a virus, but does anybody have any idea what it is?

So far so good guys. The dev thread is an interesting read too. Issac87, you sir are the most modest genius that I have ever read. I really appreciate the hard work everyone has done. The CM7 dev build alone has made my phone fantastic. I am excited to see where ICS takes this phone. As far as performance and stability, it is supposed to be eons ahead of HoneyComb and GingerBread.
