Root The road to Android ICS 4.0 on the Triumph

Interesting, it may need manual tweaking for our proprietary blobs. Also I assume it won't pick up isaac's repo that has tickerguy's changes, it would go straight to CM's repo for anything other than device.

Also while a tool like this is helpful for a beginner to setup. The manual typing is still needed if that dev is to make any contributions in the future. Otherwise they're just building a working source, and everything has to be perfectly setup for them.

you can direct it to wherever the repo is. That is what I did. Pulled Isaacs repo no issues.

Noob thought here. I have been following the development of Issacs's and TG's Roms and the path to ICS. I understand some of the obstacles include not having the source, gen lock issues, other versions of the phone are GSM.
Cricket just introduced the Huawei U8866 Honor. The CDMA version is the Mercury on Cricket which uses Sprint network.
Same Snapdragon processor but running at 1.4 and 205 adreno chipset.
It comes stock with gingerbread and it was the first phone to be upgraded to ICS which was available as a download for a time on the Huawei website. Huawei U8860 Gets a “Beta” Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Update!
Could any of this be helpful in patching the holes we have.
Thank you so much to the regular contributors on this forum. I have learned so much from you.
I'm starting to worry myself with my addiction to this forum!!!!

thats so awesome to see the touchscreen working on the triumph ICS build.

I wish I had more to contribute, so for lack of coding skill, I can at least wait patiently while skilled and talented people solve difficult problems.

I feel you! If I had more Linux experience I would be more all over this than what I already am! But I love to learn!
and SamaraiFox18, I added to to the 'thank' list on youtube.

I have an extra Triumph, I would be willing to test also

Lemme know!:D

I feel like a short order cook trying to make a meal for the president with this ICS build!!!!

Isaac's been gone for quite a bit. There must have been another reason why he said to stop donating.

Either he quit (and he's been telling us he'll stop when he feels like it), or his internet stopped working, or he got abducted by bandits and will never see us again.

I know it is a heartless attitude, but we need to face the possibility that Isaac simply will not come back (and some day, he won't). It seems Mantera (and others) has taken initiative; and we should start congratulating him/her for that. Isaac has done quite a bit for our community (I'll argue that he's the one who started it all!), but we should move on.

From mantera::

"Here's my build. If somebody can get a logcat and post that for everyone else, it would be great. I don't have time atm to post anything else of push anything else."

you have to extract the .zip, remove the phone.apk, then re-zip, flash.
If you don't wanna remove the phone.apk, it will continue to Force close everything.:D

You don't even have to extract or re-zip just use a winrar or 7zip and open it up delete and your done... that simple :D, well and copy to your sdcard and flash of course :D

And as much as I would like to think that Isaac will come back (or even TG by some miracle) the longer he is gone the more I think he won't be coming back, but on the bright side of things we have plenty of people who are trying and have experience with linux and such granted they may not have as much as Isaac or TG, but one day we may get a fully functional port of ICS on or MT! We are getting closer! :D And it tastes soooo good! XD

Doesn't matter the usb storage/ sdcard doesn't mount on either the MT's build or the Ideos X6's build. :/

Repo is repository management tool..

try the below code for downloading ,it worked for me.

mkdir ~/bin

curl (kernal link)/repo > ~/bin/repo

chmod a+x ~/bin/repo
Now open up your bashrc (nano ~/.bashrc) and add the following to the end:

PATH=~/bin:$PATH

Save the file and source it:

source ~/.bashrc

if repo is not working restart terminal once and check

guys issac87 is so far past the slow touch reaction on the phone. you have to add the orginal ido file in the lib folder for triumph driver to fix touch. just keep modding the drivers for hawaei x6. there are fixes. follow get hub. issac's been posting since last week on fixes. spefically talking to edwor, who took from issac on get hub to get the hawaei build. our devices has slightly different hardware differences wich make our device alittle more low budget and forgotten about in the ics community. however, simple modding from hawaei x6 could spring a stable mod for the triumph.
