Root [Theme] Quicksilver - Operators are standing by!

I use ADW EX, it has more features than regular ADW and that's what you're seeing. In EX, you can set just the icons. Next best thing would be to set the full theme, then go back and change the wallpaper. The reflection is part of EX also. I didn't mod the clock, not sure what you mean there and the battery showing on the lockscreen is found under menu-cyanogen-appearence-lockscreen. I'm on Quattrimus right now or I'd double check that, but it should be right.

brotherswing, do you know of any other, more customizable, methods for creating flashable themes? the kitchen just doesnt quite have what im looking for in the icons department. so i was wondering if there was a way to say, take a preexisting theme, perform a little surgery on it, take out some of the graphics, abd place in new, more custom state of the art joint replacements.if your unsure of an alternate way, im sure i could do a little digging, and find out if there was.(possibly the old fashioned way before the kitchen was built into the renovated house... the slow cooker over the campfire!)

Welcome to my world! What you're describing is exactly what I've been working on (around feedings and diaper changes.) There is no easy way to do it, and it takes combining three different theme creation methods. There's some details I'm working out, then I'll write up a full tutorial. My laptop had been transferred to hospice to enjoy it's last few days, and I got a new one two days ago. I've got my build environment set up, and work will be resuming.

Yea, that's one reason why I have yet to release my 'Darkness'(still working on a name) theme.. it looks to honeycomb meets ICS.. and not enough custom-like... I want it to be more like "that's not even possible on UOT kitchen!"
still wish it was as easy as replacing images and fonts. Cause UOT is missing a great deal of fonts as well.. last time I checked, I didn't see a stropia font in there.

I thought a name would be obvious. What about "Darkness Stalker" You could even add a splash of color and call it say: for red "Darkness Blood Stalker", For a really light shade of yelow: "Darkness Moon Stalker",etc.,etc.

I just flashed backside 2-19 earlier today now I want to add Quicksilver. Do I need to wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache before flashing Quicksilver?

I think that really depends on how your phone is setup..for example,I use link2sd and whenever I've tried to wipe cache and dalvik cache it creates major havoc with link2sd. So I apply my themes without wiping caches.

All depends how your setup, in most cases it is advisable to wipe the caches before applying the theme.

Funny thing is, this advice is good, but I don't follow it. I just flash and reboot. I know I shouldn't do it that way, I'm just lazy.

Thanks for the info. I'll starting asking that now, before giving advice on the subject.
No problem Andy.

If you check the first few early pages of the backside ROM themes thread, you find some additional people that had the issue. Here's one of their quotes.
I've skipped that step the last couple of times myself, since it seems to do really bad things if you use link2sd. (tried it once, didn't lock up at the IHO screen, but once it booted, EVERYTHING on my phone threw up force close errors all at once). I've had no ill effects with not wiping, but I included the step (now as optional) since it seems to be the norm. *shrug* whatever works.

I really like the theme, especially the fonts. Everything seems to be running better on backside 219 since flashing the theme. Don't know if it has to do with the additional flash, clearing cache again, or the theme itself but I'm really happy with the performance. I didn't get the adw elegant icons because I like the standard ones (that's just me) which leads me to my question ... is there any way to get some color in the status bar for the wi-fi, cell, and bettery indicators? I know the theme is Quick"silver" but I was wondering how to get additional color options. Many thanks to jerryscript & brotherswing for all your hard work!

Hit my UoT tutorial (in the All Things Root sticky) for how to modify an existing theme for your tastes. It isn't difficult, and I promise not to get mad!

Stupid question of the day. After Backside updates,(03132012), do I have to wait for an update for Quicksilver to be updated? It seem to not work with the current 0306.

Thanks brotherswing for updating my favorite Theme. I was wondering though, do you have the md5sum value so I can make sure what I downloaded isn't corrupt? Seems like lately I've been getting some corrupt files so I just wanna make sure I'm good before flashing. Thanks again.

I've never generated md5 sums on my files, but that is a good idea. Especially since I modify my themes beyond what UoT does. Starting with the next update, I'll include the md5. Thanks for the suggestion!
