Root [Themed ROM] NexBeast V1.1 (updated 5/27/2010)

I don't care much for the themed stuff in the last update (yesterday), but where can I get the fixed/stock music .apk that isn't glitched out now?

You can extract it from the ROM. It's in /system/app/. Then, use whatever method you want to patch it over your existing Music.apk.

Because of my constant rom flash addiction I can't remember what each of the features are between the roms, they just blur together. Can anyone tell me if on NexBeast v1.01, that the dialer could be set to go into landscape because on v1.1 their is no menu for the dialer? I know for sure it worked on CM but I can't remember if it worked in NB 1.01.

It's the same way as BB 1.1 I think CyanogenMod uses an enhanced phone app created by a guy over at XDA, which allows it to do that.

I didn't do a wipe this time just as a test to see if everything runs smoothly and so far so good, no FC's or acore problems.

If I start getting them again I will do a full wipe.

Odd thing happened to me this time around, which has NEVER happened to me with any other ROM. Went to intall the Bekit LV 1.2 kernel that I've been using for what seems like months on every ROM I've flashed and I ran into the dreaded Motorola sign. I guess I'll try the 1.0 kernel - no need to run it at 1.2 ghz anyway I suppose.

You might try going into clockwork recovery, partition menu, wipe BOOT, and flashing again. That'll make sure that all remnants of the old kernel are gone.

They should be there. The media upload and talkback apps are system apps that run in the background (aren't visible).

The Amazon is a newer version, but it isn't really anything special.

It sounds like you need to redownload the update.zip file that provides root. Did you unzip this file by accident?

I was trying to uninstall Launcher2, as I use the themed launcher pro for my primary app. But the script doesnt work. Says no such directory or file. Was that an old script on the first page?

I also have a request. Is there a way to get the black themed google search bar from Launcher2 onto the themed Launcher Pro?

Keep it zipped. The Droid will read it that way.

For those wondering, I came to this from CM 5.0.7.1 and forgot to do a full wipe (quoting Ron White, "You ever forget? Happened to me.") and so far I haven't encountered a single issue. Used to be a time when you never needed to wipe doing the update.zip method.

Just a spin-off from the other thread on the forum, but does anyone else have an issue with USB Debugging being on and the SD card not connecting?

I've noticed it on my Windows 7 x64 machine and have installed all the new drivers yet it still wouldn't work. When you turn on debugging, windows logs it as "ADP" driver and SD Card never shows. When you turn it off, it shows up as "A855" driver and now it works.

Yeah, I tried, but there's something different about how ADW and LauncherPro implement that search bar from the stock launcher/launcher 3d/helix launchers.

Yea, I don't get it either, but apparently I'm not alone in this.

Perhaps it has something to do with the version of Win 7? I have Enterprise.

May I ask why you only go to 900MHz? You def know more about these things than us, do you think OCing too high too often will cause a problem?

I don't think it'll cause too many problems. I just feel that ADW is lightening quick at 900MHz, my webpages render fast enough, and my battery life is superb.

Had no luck with the standard and low voltage 1 Ghz Bekit kernels available in ROM manager under CM (thought they were the same - guess not). I'm now running the 1 Ghz low voltage Bekit kernel available in the first post and following Fab's set up. Awesome so far. Thanks Fab!
