My setup:

Nexbeast 1.1, P3 LV 1000 kernal with Set cpu

ADW launcher, 5 screens and i have autohide on the notification bar + the home key brings it down.. its such a fast, clean rom and a fast clean launcher. Im so happy again :)

The only issues is handcent popup keyboard doesnt work right with the autohide notification bar

Serious question, what is the love affair with Rom Manager? Seriously, installing a rom is not difficult and shelling out $5 doesn't seem worth it.
For one thing, it's faster and easier. Most of what I'm looking for is there in one easy to use UI. No, it's not hard to do things old school, but when I'm in a hurry to fix a bug I just found, it's handy. I don't wanna search message boards on the go to find a rom the fixes my bluetooth. Rom Manager gives me links to good roms, themes, fonts, and kernels fast. I originally bought Rom Manager as a way to donate to Koush for bringing CM to the Droid, and figured I may or may not use it, kinda like I did with DoubleTwist. I've found Rom Manager quite useful since, unlike DT. I also prefer Clockwork recovery, because it eliminates the need to rename updates, so I don't have to shuffle shit and rename it. I hope to see more chefs on RM soon. It really is worth the price of a Big Mac meal.

Awesome work as usual Fab. Just wondering though, does anyone know if pulldown editor will work with this????....... I've been trying but it just sends me into a boot loop. It worked on Nexbeast 1.0.

Edit: Nevermind.......it works. My phone doesn't like to reboot when its running hot so I just waited till it cooled down.

I really like this ROM awesome. Can you post the apk for the keyboard? It looks awesom and while I was restoring my stuff back I skinned over it and I am not sure how to get it back. thanks

Rom Manager is easy to use and doesn't require me using my computer to do things with my phone anymore.

Great job Fab!

I havent flashed nexthemeV1.1 yet but im using BB1.1 with p3 1ghz LV kernal and my wired tether will not work. Anyone else had this problem?

Well, once again I couldn't get a Bekit kernel working. Went back to the P3 LV 1.2GHz, and no issue.

Now, I only have that problem of figuring out which Home launcher I wanna use. Guess I'll give the ADW one a go, for a bit, as I'm still new to it.

sorry to ask again, but what do people do for backing up apps. I've been using titanium but was concerned that i was restoring apps that have been updated with the latest ROM. Also, even when i do a batch restore i still have to through each app individually and confirm restore.
thanks.

Because of my constant rom flash addiction I can't remember what each of the features are between the roms, they just blur together. Can anyone tell me if on NexBeast v1.01, that the dialer could be set to go into landscape because on v1.1 their is no menu for the dialer? I know for sure it worked on CM but I can't remember if it worked in NB 1.01.

Excelent work as always Feb the only gripe I have on the rom is the missed call icon is red and since i suck at life and am color blind it is hard for me to see. Stupid mother and passing on color blind genes.

what kernel is everyone using? which others have you tried and what's giving you the best results?

I've been using P3Droid kernels. They always seemed to run cooler on my phone than Bekit. When I was running NB 1.0 I used the 1.2Ghz version. When 1.0.1 came out it didn't play nice with anything running at 1.2Ghz (not stable at all), so I scaled back to 1.0Ghz and had no problems. But with Launcher Pro being so fast and smooth (even when running the default 600Mhz kernel included in NB 1.1) I'm running the 1.0Ghz kernel but only overclock to 800Mhz (I believe Fab runs at the same speed with the same launcher). However, I like to have the ability to increase it a bit to show off just a bit more speed should I have an encounter with an iPhone fanboi. ;)

Great work Fab!

I don't care much for the themed stuff in the last update (yesterday), but where can I get the fixed/stock music .apk that isn't glitched out now?

Thanks!

I went and tried out CM 5.0.7.1 with DroTheme, the NexTheme for Droid for CM. Installation went fine...then I tried to actually use things:
1) temps were warmer, even after letting the phone sit for a few hours to rebuild cache, etc.
2) screen transitions are slower - using ADW Launcher (my fave), with all the speed tricks, I still got stutter/judder that is completely absent using BB/NexB.
3) Nav is unreliable! first time you start google maps, GPS does not turn on...I had to manually turn off, and then turn on GPS everytime I wanted to use Nav. frustrating...
4) Voice search is unreliable! Did a horrible job of recognize my voice. Made Navigation unusable.
5) FCs! Got FCs with maps, music, and a couple of other apps.

Needless to say...I uninstalled.

NexBeast, OTOH, looks great, works great, and has great battery life. Fabolous - this continues to be about perfect. Thanks again!

Gah, I just set up BB 1.1 too, I should have just waited.

BB is running about 10 degrees (F) hotter no matter what I do than my last NexBest setup. So I'm tempted to start over. (I've used the stock and 800mhz Bekit kernels so far, I started with those because they ran better than P3 on Nexbeast)

I'm trying one more kernel (p3 800) to see if that improves anything, Otherwise I'll be flashing this over...

Just flashed this rom and it's running so great.. Had BB V1 before.. did a data wipe/cache wipe twice, and now i'm about to install Bekit's LV1000 kernel. No bugs yet, and the new launcher is cool too i've never seen this one before. The side swiping for app screens is a nice change!

I didn't do a wipe this time just as a test to see if everything runs smoothly and so far so good, no FC's or acore problems.

If I start getting them again I will do a full wipe.

running Bekit 1.0Ghz

Thanks Fab - you work very quickly. Much appreciated.

Odd thing happened to me this time around, which has NEVER happened to me with any other ROM. Went to intall the Bekit LV 1.2 kernel that I've been using for what seems like months on every ROM I've flashed and I ran into the dreaded Motorola sign. I guess I'll try the 1.0 kernel - no need to run it at 1.2 ghz anyway I suppose.

I also noticed this...I briefly installed BB1.1 before I saw that NexBeast had been updated. For me, installing SetCPU and using a sleep/standby profile of 250/400 solved the temps problem on BB, but overall I prefer the look of NexBeast.

I haven't done a whole lot w/ it but NexBeast is so far running much cooler than CM was for me (didn't flash BB). I wouldn't get below 98F no matter what I was doing, and I was just at 76F w/ NexBeast.

EDIT: using the exact same P3 1.2GHz kernel.
