When I go to the 'Allow update.zip Installation' nothing happens. I have it saved on the SD card renamed to update.zip, any help?

after you hit allow update.zip you need to select install update.zip

also make sure you filename isnt REALLY update.zip.zip...that will make it not work

You have to "Allow update.zip Installation" first and then go to the line below it and execute the Update.zip...

Hope this helps

okay well i wiped data and cache...installed update.zip...and am in the process of restoring data...we'll see what happens...

EDIT:Crossing my fingers that i do not get an endless bootloop...
UPDATE: IT WORKED!!! I do not know how well service is etc etc as I have no service here but I will update later...everything seems fast!!!

the battery indicators are just images with the text built in. it is not dynamically written over the image. the indicators were mentioned in the OP

Goodies
-Themed w/ DroTheme 2.0r2
-Motorola 600/250 kernel OC'able up to 800MHz
-Battery Percentage (100,80,60,40,20,10)
-Wireless Tethering
-Ringer Widget
-Scripts (see below)
-Themed LauncherPro Beta
-Music Mod by Eliot Stocker (ty Blackdroid for porting to Droid!)
-NexTheme font

ahhh missed it, thanks...makes it a little difficult to manage battery, but i'll deal, lol.

there are a lot of battery widgets you could use. the one that i found most useful is Switch Pro Widget. it looks like the stock power control widget but you can assign the buttons to do different options and one of them is a battery meter.

here is an image from the developer.

Well, my heaphone plug is going south, so I'm going to call VZW and request a replacement droid today. Maybe I'll get lucky and get a refurb that a) is fully functional, and b) will run froyo w/out me having to be so freakin' careful about reboots. ;)

Back on your NexFro, fab...amazingly (for me) I was able to try out Pete's BB Froyo (looking for wireless), and then was able to come back to your ROM (looking for coolest, since wifi was no-go on BB as well). :D

i am running petes rom now and the wifi works everywhere even if i forget the connection and resign it. wifi must just be crazy on froyo.

I'm on the stock kernel and everything is working. I have not tried to forget WiFi and reconnect. because I'm on it all the time.
Biggest thing I'm getting is very poor battery life. Like 4 hrs per charge and that's with lite use.. its worse than when I was using chevyno1 back in the day with a 1. 2 oc.. I would get at least 6out of that with heavy-duty usage.. am I alone on the battery issue? if so, ill reflash. But I did everything correctly by Tue book. Didn't even restore using any kind of backup.

I'm not able to connect to wifi either. Do you think it has something to do with the C_01.43.01P baseband? Cause it used work for me when I only had the C_01.41.00R baseband.
Currently running NexFro 1.0.1, included kernel and C_01.43.01P.

Shouldn't have anything to do with it. I'm still on C_01.41.00R and my WiFi is out too. Funny thing is that it worked the first time I flashed to this ROM. I changed to Pete's release then reverted back and now it doesn't work anymore.

Has nothing to do with baseband. I've flashed numerous ones and it doesn't change one bit.

Btw, still on BB Froyo and wifi is definitely working. Logged on at two different offices now without a problem.

In Set CPU for Root Users i tried to "Autodetect Speeds" and it said "No root access detected. Are your applications allowed access to root"...i wanna bump up the speed a little bit and fully take advantage of setcpu i just bought.

Do I need a different kernel? Is the a setting I need to change somewhere? Anyone??

Yo!

Running NexFro 1.0.1 with the P3 1200 kernel and C_01.41.00R baseband. No WiFi issues at all.

HOWEVER! I am having the funky Market issues. It is SLOW. I mean.... I can barely even use it. Same thing happens to my Live.fm and Pandora apps. It just sorta sits. And this is when I'm seemingly connected to 3G or WiFi.

I've been holding off on Pete's because I love the NexTheme. Having the NexFro with stock fonts is beautiful - I can't handle the extra-skinny NexFro font!

However, I'm thinking about testing BB to see if the market/streaming music issues persist.

OTHERWISE, everything is gravy.

And yes, as other's have asked... how are folks pulling off such high benchmarks?!

I'm pulling off numbers ranging from 1400 - 1500 when clocked at 1200.

Anything above 1500 seems downright crazy to me... and I want in on this crazy!!!

Peace!

The first time you run SetCPU it should ask if you want to allow root.

Go into your App Drawer, find the Superuser app, and see if SetCPU is listed - if it is, and has a green light, then try rebooting the phone, f it still does not work, go back into SuperUser, remove SetCPU, then reboot the phone and run SetCPU again - it should then ask for Superuser privileges, and make sure to select the

This may be stupid and may not work but have you tried *228 option 2? It fixed all of my market problems. Sounds weird I know, but I saw it in another forum and tried it. I couldn't find LogMeIn in the market even if I used AppBrain added it to install and synced with it. After I tried that it worked both ways and my market sped up.

has anyone noticed that gtalk on the phone now syncs up with gchat on the pc? if you chat with someone on gmail through gchat, the talk app on your phone will sync up the convo. so when you go afk, you can continue the convo right where you left off, with the entire chat on your phone.

this is probably THE MOST useful feature for me, so far, that i have noticed on froyo. too bad it only goes one way, pc to phone, and not phone to pc. but i can live with that.
