Anyone having issues with setcpu? Every time after a reboot my max is set to 600mhz even thought the slider is set to 1100mhz. Once I move the slider back and forth the max corrects itself until the next reboot.

There is a "Set on boot" checkbox in SetCPU, you need to select it in order to have the speed setting be persistent through reboots.

Whew, I got a lot of questions to answer!

Fab are you planning on making a rom off of the new BB?

I'm still trying to figure out this wifi issue. Though, it seems, some people are also having issues with wifi in BB, so is it just a Froyo thing?!

Is anyone else having trouble getting to some apps in the market. I can't seem to make it find LogMeIn.

Also is there something you have to do to make the market sync your apps after a reinstall? Mine has never done that and I have switched (and reinstalled) 2.2 ROMs multiple times.

Please forgive me if these have already been discussed.

To get your market to sync automatically, you have to backup your settings with Google. Then they'll have your app list, and can restore them when you do a factory reset/ROM change.

Well, my heaphone plug is going south, so I'm going to call VZW and request a replacement droid today. Maybe I'll get lucky and get a refurb that a) is fully functional, and b) will run froyo w/out me having to be so freakin' careful about reboots. ;)

Back on your NexFro, fab...amazingly (for me) I was able to try out Pete's BB Froyo (looking for wireless), and then was able to come back to your ROM (looking for coolest, since wifi was no-go on BB as well). :D

Haha, finally, a legit reason to replace that monster! I'm crossing my fingers for you man.

So, wireless wasn't working for you on BB as well? Is this a common issue. I don't want to keep busting my head if it's just Froyo being stupid (well, it's a leak so it's allowed to be a little funky)

i am running petes rom now and the wifi works everywhere even if i forget the connection and resign it. wifi must just be crazy on froyo.

Yeah, wifi worked like that for me too on BB, but as soon as I themed it, it got stuck at scanning...

I got the file already to put NexTheme over BB...I just don't want to release it if it's going to be breaking people's wifi.

Fab, how in the heck did you get 1700 in Quadrant in that one screenshot??

1.2GHz on a clean install.

Shouldn't have anything to do with it. I'm still on C_01.41.00R and my WiFi is out too. Funny thing is that it worked the first time I flashed to this ROM. I changed to Pete's release then reverted back and now it doesn't work anymore.

This wifi behavior is so unpredictable. I had a themed version of BB working perfectly with wifi last night (hence my wifi is fixed comment), but then I did a factory reset, and it stopped working!

It's so frustrating.

This may be stupid and may not work but have you tried *228 option 2? It fixed all of my market problems. Sounds weird I know, but I saw it in another forum and tried it. I couldn't find LogMeIn in the market even if I used AppBrain added it to install and synced with it. After I tried that it worked both ways and my market sped up.

Also, wiping the market data and cache really helped me! Went from taking a minute to load and app before I could click download back to 2.1 speeds.

I have used Fab's NexTheme and NexBeast which worked perfectly for me. NexFro gave me fits with Market and no wifi. Flashed Pete's FRF57v01 and everything worked perfectly out of the box. Apps reloaded within 5 min and wifi works great. Please Fab, get your theme on Pete's rom.

Any chance you can upload it with a warning? My wifi is not working now so no worries of breaking it, I just want to see if his rom with your theme might fix it for me without leaving the nextheme.

Anyone know when I delete apps from the system like live wallpapers etc it does not free up system space? Ive tried using script through terminal and deleteing through rom manager and I still have the same available space after delete????

ahh...let me do a few more tests first ;)

Free space is the amount that is on /data/

That being said, there's still a point to removing unused system apps, like say, Email. It frees up RAM.

I'll do without the WiFi until you get it figured out. No way I'm leaving this ROM. The theme is just way too sweet and it runs like a dream. Gotta love the hotspot included in it also.

Great work Fabolous

So would there be any use to delete system app space and put apps in there like hadcent for example in the system app folder?

Hey Fab!

This is pretty awesome! I have been MIA again as I am working on a project that has me getting home to late to play. I will check this out once I get home and will let you know how it goes.

So... quick question... could you let me know any items that I should take into account if I do not want to loose it from your NexBeast 1.0.1? I am also interested in cleaning out my sdcard from all of the stuff that I have installed while testing NexBeast.

Any thoughts?

Wonder if the PRL update will allow us to have NexFro with the default build.prop - meaning that the market will work and show all apps and such....

Fab, You got a FRF57 -based NexFro without the Market fix handy?

Does the PRL get auto-updated after the baseband update, or do I need to manually enter it? My phone's 3G is really spotty where I live and it never works at my place or my girlfriend's. What is the best PRL? I live in Southwest Florida and to my understanding PRL's vary by region. Any help would be appreciated!

It does not get auto-updated. Unfortunately, the update process is automated, and I have no idea how to judge the 'best'.

AFAICT, finding other users who have performed the update numerous times until they found one they liked is the only way to get the best one, but that is a subjective opinion, at best.

Any idea how to get a list of PRL's to play with? I've tried a few and would just like to try more.

I saw other posts on the BB Froyo thread about wifi issues, but I don't know if it's most works/few don't, or ?

Mine never worked, and I did a completely clean install, wiped everything...

Fab, I've been reading the BB Froyo thread over at Alldroid pretty religiously and my impression is that the folks who wiped all partitions (data, cache, system and boot) several times and used the updated "small changes/fixes" file have had great success -- no market or wifi issues, flash beta 2 working perfectly. Again, I haven't tried it yet (I'll try it after you've done your magic), but that's the sense I get from all the reading.

Answered my own question, using root explorer I moved some apps to system/app and freed up space, didnt need it but nice to know it can be done.

Now all we need is a wifi stable NexFroBeast :D:D

Okay, this might be a little off-topic, but why do some Droids like some roms more than others? I guess what I'm trying to ask is, why do some people's droids' wifi work fine with nexfro, and some people's don't?

Fab, on the WiFi issue, I just read that something from Fadelight that made it sound like it may be a reporting issue (as in the sytem wireless settings reporting no connection when there is actually one). I wasn't sure you'd seen this, so I thought I'd reproduce it here:

Mine gave me the same crap... tried to connect, then just went back to saying "remembered" instead of "connected". I saw the wifi indicator in my statusbar though, so I opened the browser... I was connected. The phone just didn't say I was. I loaded whatsmyip.com, so I know I was on my own home network. I use wpa2 as well.

does anyone know how to change the MP for the camera? i don't want it to take 5MP pics all the time. the option to change it seems to have been eliminated now.

It's called the ills of mass produced hardware - never can be 100% sure that they will operate identically - in fact, you can almost sure that they won't operate identically.

A good example of this is Computer CPUs - One guy can take a Core2Quad 6600 made by Intel with a G0 stepping to 3.8 GHz OC'd usnig just air cooling - and his buddy next to him can get an identical CPU with the same stepping and only get 3.3 GHz out of it - air or water cooled.

Yeah, saw that too - but more than one user has also posted Speedtest, net results showing that he was, in fact, still connected to 3G....

I think if you zoom in it takes lower res pics, right? Not sure if that is not the case....
