Root Theming. Services.jar and framework-res.apk

Hey all. quickly i need someone to point me to the best tutorials available on editing services.jar and framework-res.apk. Thanks!

Good tutorial for editing services.jar I used to do a white clock along time ago.

Framework-res.apk should be handled like any other apk. unzip it's contents then drop what ever you changed back into the original apk using something like 7zip

I would not recommend using apk manager with the framework-res.apk. That mother****er is a bitch to recompile correctly. I've used apktool with some success, but compiling that damn framework-res is like pulling teeth.

what about changing the date color? is that is services.jar or framework-res.apk i just want to change text colors not images

IIRC, date and notification colors are contained within the xml files in framework-res.apk. I think they are called stat_bar.xml or something along those lines.

Step 11 in this tutorial details the editing of the necessary xml files.

well i heard 7zip if you open it in that you can change files and the crc values dont change so its like its original
that was a bug in it not sure if it got fixed though

If you use 7zip to explore the contents of an apk, remove the files you want and make changes to them, then drag and drop those files back into 7zip and overwrite the originals. This will change the contents of the apk. Then simply push that apk via adb in recovery. Simple.
