Root titanium backup vs nadroid

I'm getting ready to root and after doing a bunch of reading I have a question. Why would you need Titanium backup if you can just do a Nandroid backup? Is it that Nandroids take up so much space?

No, its moreso that you lose your apps from rom to rom in many instances, esp if you do a factory reset before flashing. If you dont to a TiB(titanoim backup) before flashing a rom, then youll likely hafta re-download/reinstall many of your apk's.

Nandroids are a snapshot in time of how your phone is set up. That way if you flash something else and either mess it up or just plain dont like it you can always restore your nandroid and its as if you never even attempted the flash. Everything is back as it was when you nandroided.

Titanium backup is useful for backing up app data such as progress in games, ect so that when you move from ROM to ROM you dont lose the application data. You can even restore the whole app so that you dont need to redownload it.

And for what it's worth, I held off on getting the Titanium pro key for quite a long time, and it's pretty dang nice to do batch installs without having to hit "install" for each app that it restores. Definitely well worth the money and makes switching from rom to rom less of a process.

+1 on TB Pro

If there's one app that you're going to buy for a rooted phone, this is it. Great developer support, Joel is awesome:D
