Tmobile-MetroPCS Merger Updates & Questions

Inaressin that he'd say that as it flies directly Against the party line from Germany. (And he supposedly has good T-Mo contacts)

It's also Just a statement that appears to be based on nothing but his opinion. While he may be one of the best bloggers, the fact remains that he's Just That, a blogger.

Neither he nor anyone in this forum has legitimate clue #1 to what T-Metro will be in 5 years. I don't even think T-Mo is real sure of that yet. The more adamant someone is in their opinion of where they Know T-Metro will be 5 years from now the more I think they're ignorant, delusional, or both. Some also don't keep in mind that Germans are flyin the spaceship here. No offense meant there in the least but they Think differently than many other business people do. I *woudn't* necessarily think they'd make decisions that we in the U.S. would agree with.

The only real constant is change. The thing easy to forget is while T-Metro is changing, the others will change too. Maybe we'll like their change, maybe not. (Though admittedly, the other major carriers seem Very Resistent to being able to remove their heads from their asses.)

Well said sir.

Would have liked to seen some "Bruce-isms" in there but a normal response will do. :D

Came across this quote this morning from Tmo news.

Eventually though, look for MetroPCS and its brand to go away, as the new company is pushing the T-Mobile branding. Additionally, T-Mobile wants to use the MetroPCS CDMA service on the 1900MHz spectrum to HSPA+, a GSM technology. That means that your MetroPCS phone today likely won't work on the future T-Mobile network but that transition may take years.
Just because he said that just shows he did very little research, they've already said their set date numerous times that CDMA will be shut down by Q2 2015

this stuff again??

with or without the merger CDMA was going away for metro.

My major issue with the TMoNews quote was when he jumped the rails and declared Metro a dead carrier walking. That's where I think he really pooned the pooch.

Would have been different if he added "In my opinion..." in there. But he was saying it like it was fact. O_0

I think there is a much better example of "combined" companies.

Mercedes and Chisler. ;)

Now, forgot all the behind the scenes stuff where MB basically robbed and deceived Chisler, that's besides the point of the discussion.

There was never any intent of MB to close down Chisler. It was meant all the time they Would Be the little red headed step child. Chisler apparently had no problem with that as they new they'd still get some trickle down bennies. (Saw a Crossfire just yesterday, a pretty cool little car.) And yes, Chisler sold at least that one MB car totally branded as a Chisler.

Not every buy out has to be to shuttler the smaller company.

I work for MetroPCS AND I drive an '05 Crossfire. :)
Only the MetroPCS CDMA network is going away. End of 2015 is the current plan. The MetroPCS brand will remain. In fact, T-Mobile is expanding MetroPCS to 30 new markets by the end of the year.

Summer 2015 is the END of CDMA. Theyll be in 30 total markets by the end of the year not 30 new markets. 15 existing and 15 new

Not sure if this has been posted or noticed.

Don't be misled by Metro's sleezy alluding to there being a phone rebate. There ISN'T one. It's a "rebate" ONLY if you Add additional lines, it's for the extra lines Not the phones.

I though that was deceitful and yep, I told them so.

Next time your in Georgia Bruce we should really grab a steak and talk about our dislike for the government. ;)

Well I'm not holding my breath. ;)

But if somehow some way MPCS or any other carrier can beat $39 a month for unlimited everything then I will jump, hop, skip, shimmy my way down to the store. :D

Are you using the TMo sim or the ATT sim on ST? How much data do you use? I've looked into ST a few times but I think I use too much data, roughly 12-15gb a month sometimes more. I heard they we're more lenient on the TMo towers and stopped selling the ATT sims.
