Root tommys rom or reloaded?

which rom is better i currently have reloaded but is tommy better? in tomy is there already a tether app? what do you pefer?can you post a link to it?
 
I go back and forth between them almost daily. I can't pick one and stick with it.

Tommy's has the hacked sprint hotspot.


I think they are both worth a flash. Nandroid and try it out.

Tommy issues updates through the classic control panel inside of the the ROM. You can also do all kinds of tweaks there. (the first update gets rid of the bootanimation sound and fixes other things)

I'm sure its still possible to do.

Tommy included a song as a bootanimation by default with supermagic. Personally, my phone is always on vibrate. I can't have a bootanimation sound in case my phone starts bootlooping while I'm in class. The only way I'm aware to stop it is to pull the battery or wait for it to boot.
 
I believe if you put the phone on vibrate even on the reboot it will not play the sound. I hated sprints sound and when I wasn't rooted that was how I had to do it of course you have to remember to turn it back up.

If not then I'm completely confused and will just sit in the corner and look stoopid :D

i like em both too...I had to flash a sense ROM for a gps clear, so i choose Tommy's, its SUPERNICE!!! i even gave it a whole day's run after clearing my gps data...LOL..just too...stock for me..although i am sure you can theme it. i prefer reloaded for now (new aosp fan boy, and have i been missing out!)

Reloaded is the only aosp Rom other than miui that has lasted more than 10 minutes on my device. I love it.

I applied that data speed tweak on xda and its been hell ever since though.

I went from getting 700-1000kb/s download speeds to 20kb/s and its stuck even through nandroids and Rom flashes. It doesn't make any sense.
 
wow. That answers that question. I thought about applying that code too but thought I would need some time to figure out and follow his instructions about adding it to the folder. Glad I didn't now though.

Strange it lingers like that. have you looked back at that, what is it, syscntl folder to see what is in there?

I wonder what would happen if you reflashed your radios?

Then again, have you called sprint to see if they are messing with the towers in your area?
 
It almost has to be a tower issue. It just doesnt make sense that it would stick around because i manually removed it.

The speeds dropped as soon as I applied the tweak and didnt go back up after removing it minutes later.

I'm still at 30kb/s today. I'm gonna have to call sprint.

I reflashed my radio yesterday to try to help, nothing
 
That would be a heck of a coincidence, but that is how it is sometimes. :)

Be interesting to hear the end of this story when you get it figured out. Hopefully soon!
 
Sprint says there are no tower issues.

Throw on the stock 4.67 ROM and bring it in to them and let them do the diagnostics.

20kb/sec is basically unusable as far as data goes. Maybe running an RUU will straighten things out.

I'm truely stumped
 
dang, rex, that sucks...I just tested mine to see.I too am running the speed tweaks, i am getting 83 kb ping, 1499 down, 573 up (upload doesnt seem to change much for me)...I am undervolted -50, underclocke to 536 on mason sbc, smartass. keep us posted
