which recovery did you download? extract it, rename it recovery.img and move it to sd card

Sammyz your getting ahead of yourself.

britchick88: Go to the market and search for root file explorer and download that. Once downloaded, open it and find the flash image gui and press your finger on it, then find the option to install it. It may ask you to change a setting to allow you to install files from unknown sources. Then once installed find it in the app draw, and use it to install a recovery.

I downloaded the green one :)

so, now I have,

recovery.img
flash image thingy

on my sd card. what about the green machine theme... do I need that?
what next?

yeesh, which one?! There's a load of different ones in the market..

The theme is optional and should only be flashed once you have the custom recovery installed and AFTER you flash the ROM.DO NOT FLASH THE THEME FIRST!

but that costs money, and she doesn't need that...

Edit: ohh......I didnt read everything

how am I getting ahead of myself?

k... got to the bit where I choose 'recovery image' .... now if I go ahead and press 'flash image' is it going to be all ok?! lol I'm SUCH a wuss :(

 the stuff needed to be put in all caps because of a blonde :D
LOL nah it's cause I know if she flashes the theme before the ROM that it goes for that it will most likely be an OH OH moment.I've got to flash this ROM on a 2.2.2 for a friend cause he is SO scared about bricking his phone.I just feel honored that he trusts me.

Good luck with that, hopefully you don't download a corrupt recovery image and then get an annoying fastboot.....

bugger, I didn't know I had to browse for the file... is it the 'boot.img' one?

edit: yes, yes, I KNOW I'm being a wuss, pain in the arse but I don't have the $$ to start over if I fubar this phone :)

lol I've got all the stuff I need saved on my computer and SD card that I've used already before on a 2.2.2 Optimus V so I'm set.I've got like 3 SD cards with recovery's ROM's and any apk that I need. Each SD card is for a different phone so I never screw it up plus I put them in folders to tell me which one they go for. That way if I put in an SD card and I get Intercept ROM file on file explorer then I know I got wrong SD card.I have to make myself foolproof.
