Root Total newbie needing help with Optimus V (virgin mobile)

If you brick it (which we hope not) there is a way to fix it on here.So be calm and don't worry.You are in good hands ;)

That should be the ROM zip there.The ROM zip is the only one that has those folders so you got the zip opened there hun.

Oh she must have downloaded the ROM instead of the recovery................

I just figured that out myself :) I'm redoing the CWM green now. Saving that as recovery.img and then moving it to the sd card. correct?
 
right, found it on the sd card.. but it's called recovery.img.img!

is that going to be a problem?

Yeah when she posted that I was like "wait that's the ROM zip".That's why I explore the zips on my computer first to see what's in there.That helped with making a good call ;)

Just take out one of the .img with your computer and move it again

EDIT: or use the file explorer you downloaded and rename it with that

long press on the recovery.img.img file and then a menu will pop up, press rename and take out .img
 
I'll send you some ibuprofen for the headache.....

So, I've got the file :recovery.img and I'm flashing that..... now! (right?!) :D
 
So you already downloaded BACKside ROM, do not extract it, put the BACKside 05222012 on your sd card in a place where you will remember where it is

I also suggest you delete all the extracted files you put on the sd card

hmmm I don't remember having to do that when I used it.I'll have to look at the SD card it's on because on my computer it's still as CWM-Green-recovery-05022012.img and I usually keep everything the same so there can be no mistakes.

Well if I don't rename it that on my optimus m, it doesn't want to flash it....
