this time I typed which <enter> then I typed flash_image and it said permission denied.Ok then try which flash_image when it boots
yes from the GUI, & didnt seem to work, at least not in emulator it didnt. do u want me to flash it from within recovery & not through clockworkmod?Did you flash the flash image zip?
how to do this in ES? I am in it and cant find anything to change this for the system folderNeed to mount system as read write. Astro should have this option somewhere in settings...if not es file explorer does and it's free

I have it, its built into the MikFroyo ROM I have been flashing. Cant find a way to do it in ES either.Nope just get es file explorer

what about that? Is that what we are trying to do?
I downloaded File Expert and that seems to allow me to save to the system>bin folder as I now have a file named flash_image in the bin folder.
but in emulator when I type which flash_image it says permission denied.
Do you have busy box installed?
yes to both.did you type su first
yes to both.
Type su
Then run steps 3-5 and see if it works, we know you have the file now, which just checks for it.
