Root Ultimate Droid Disappeared from ROM Manager!

Personally, I have tried quite a few of the ROMs out and UD really does not impress me very much. I have had a lot of luck with Cyanogen and Bugless Beast. I will continue with those and if Black Droid doesn't want UD downloaded from ROM Manager, then he doesn't have to worry about me using it.

We are currently in deliberation discussing what you were possibly implying. A ban may result. We'll get back to you.

Cool...I appreciate the notice.

Last I check not a single chef made there rom up from binary yet. Every one of the roms stands on the shoulder of giants. NO ONE WROTE IT FROM SCRATCH.

I'm sorry...did you just throw out some lame DroidMod quote there? You should give credit where credit is due for that bad "shoulder of giants" line!

That is a really bad DM quote. It was gay when someone at DM said it and its gay now

After all the hell that came out I felt the need to start playing around with different ROMs again.

Lo, and behold, I saw that the ADC ROM is *not* dead, but alive and kicking....

I flashed CM5057 and am just about finished setting it all up - then it gets backed up and I am flashing ADC again - I loved 0.3 and thought the project had stagnated - and since this is a source build too, I am expecting great things from it....

FWIW, link: [ROM] AllDroid Rom 1.0

John...you keep teaching me so much. I have probably had to google 5 different acronyms that I've seen you use to figure out what you're saying! :D FWIW = For What It's Worth...I have never seen that used before lol. My favorite is AFAICT! :)

This is kind of relevant to this thread and kind of not...but here goes (if it doesn't belong here...Fadelight is already looking for a reason to ban me...this could be the nail in the coffin! :D)

I'm confused as to what the ADC1.0 ROM actually is??? Check this out. One of the creators of this ROM said that this release "is" ESE81 (contrary to the "built from source" explanation that has been said about Cyanogen).

Here is a question from a poster:
Just talkin here, but if the ROM is built from source, its not ese81 then... If it IS built from sourse, call it like adr01 or somethin lol Motorola's built from source is called ese81, so yours cant

Here is the response (from the same person that said this was ESE81).
lol the open source version itself is ese81... so this is the alldroid version of ese81 :-P
Now, I've flashed this and aside from the battery % listed inside the battery icon and the custom "all droid" launcher tab...I can't find any noticeable differences from the ESE81 base we have already been using. I don't get the "built from souce" stance they are taking. I'm not saying it's not...I just don't understand.

Actually you would have to say it is a gay Isaac Newton quote... But you were close. ;)

"If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants" - Sir Isaac Newton

Just to clarify so you don't think anyone is "attacking" you...this has been discussed here before (the whole shoulders of giants thing).

The state of affairs as seen through my eyes, a look on what?s going on.

I can understand why Issac Newton would make a statement like that...but not Android devs. :)

Android ROM......Gravity...hmm... If Newton was standing on someone's shoulders...they were MUCH taller than the giants that Android devs are standing on :D

Just to switch things up could we in the future refer to "on the knees of midgets." (no disrespect intended to the vertically challenged) Just don't want this thread to get redundant (what the hell was this thread originally about )...

I thought it was "On the toes of toddlers"?

I noticed this when I tried it out a day or two ago which is why I didnt waste anyones time making a thread here about it. The launcher tab was pretty awful though. I never liked the alldroid logo to begin with. Who would want it always on their home screen?

That thread has gotten more interesting than that UBR - go back and read the last couple of posts. TG5 has retorted, and what he said makes sense - sort of....

gr and / or CW to install it instead of having to switch to SPR, install UD9.8, then switch back if they want to try something else.

As for ADC1.0RC, well, I never got any sort of connectivity at all, so I am wondering about that. my 3G, phone (voice) and WiFi - none would work. ANd this was after a complete format of Data, Cache, Boot and System (using CW, in case you couldn't tell lol).

Technically, BD pulled support and then someone (don't know who) posted the UD9.8 back in a repository so that folks can continue to use ROM M

hmm.. I just noticed i haven't had to update my CM since UD is gone..

Well, you could make that distinction, but there were a couple of bugs that we found when using ROM Mgr with CW around 1804 or so - one was that if you tried to make a manual backup, it booted into recovery and just sat there - and IIANM, it was not ROM specific....
