Ummm marshmallow for Sprint g stylo?!?!

Dominic is putting the ZV7 file up soon. I don't recommend installing the OTA when you are rooted. You may be able to recover, but you will be nerve wracked until you do. I'd just wait to ask Dominic and he can definitely answer your question. I just un-rooted by loading the original ZV5 system on top of my root to un-root and clear it back to factory ZV5.

Good Luck!
I took the zip Dominic uploaded on his drive and put it up on AFH because more than one person said it was taking longer than forever to download on mobile. All credit goes to Dominic I simply reuploaded.

hey guys, will I need able to flash update.zip threw recovery even though I deleted some bloatware from 5.1.1?

Thanks for the info!

Tried the manual "Check for update", but no luck. When they say they send it out in stages that must also include manually requesting the update. :(
You can get the update right now, its like three posts up.....

I downloaded the update.zip. I am going to look to make sure the other variants are the same hardware wise as the tmo variants and if so update my vendor/lge tomorrow so I can be using the mm vendor blobs. Maybe they will help. Building mm for this device is turning out to be a major pain because of all the qcom stuff and the fact that the device is 64 bit. Not to mention the fact that it is not officially supported by CM.

Can someone that has installed the update pull the system folder and upload it. The files that are in the update.zip are in Pascal source code and are not usable until they are converted at boot on the device. I am trying to update my proprietary_vendor_lge for stylo with Android 6.0 blobs. Any one that is kind enough to do this please upload the folder and tag me in your post. Thanks in advance.

I still haven't receive the over-the-air update yet from Boost. I tried Dominic G's method by downloading the update.zip, but I'm having trouble downloading the file. I've been trying to download the file since last night. I need help. My data is throttled right now. I heard that people said the file takes forever to download. I'm getting frustrated and I don't have Wi-Fi either. I did everything right. I need help, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've run into problems downloading large files when my data has been throttled as Well. I think the download times out after a certain amount of time. I wonder what the fix is

the only thing I can say is, Boost Mobile needs to hurry the f*** up and give people the software updates on the G Stylo, its been 10 days since the software update got released for the G Stylo. I understand that can take several days for everyone to get it, but damn man. This is f****** ridiculous.

If you are throttled it could take forever the file is 770mb. I used Dominic's update and I wish I had not. 1st off it's not rootable right now, the sd storage is not clear to anyone. It is overall maybe a fraction better, but without root it's not better in any form. It'll get better, but for now it's really only a curiosity getter.

With files as large as an os update , its easier and faster to use a WIFI connection. I wouldn"t take an OTA update anyway. If you know of a local open WIFI connection use that but I'd wait for our AF people to share their Knowledge here. Don"t be the first to brick your phone.

I just might wait for my software update from Boost. Hope I get it soon.

On Boost, still no update message for me either. (not rooted)
At 770MB, I'm going to have to uninstall some apps to make room.

Anyone know how much over 770MB needs to be free in order for the update to have room to process and update?

Been 12 days now since the update got released. When I had the Samsung GALAXY Reverb on Virgin, I got My update quickly. The Jelly Bean update for the Reverb was released in May 2013, I got my update a few days after it for released. Granted the G Stylo is available on multitude of carriers. But still.

OK so I downloaded the ZIP file but I'm stuck because I can't get into my recovery. My dumbass tried flashing a twrp without fully reading that it wasn't for sprint and that we sprint users can't unlock our bootloaders. So now every time I try to hold volume down and power it will give me that "secure boot error... error code 1006" and will not enter into recovery. Can anyone help me to get into recovery PLEASE Thanks.

You need to get a stock recovery image and install it. If you are rooted you can use Flashify or Rashr to install it. If they do not work you can use adb shell or terminal emulator and the dd command to install it. Then you should be able to install the update.zip

I can't find the 5.1.1 recovery anywhere or the 5.1.1 kdz or stock rom
