Root Unbricking your Sprint or Virgin Mobile USA phone using official tools and dll and bin files

I tried this and followed every step, but when I press the arrow to flash it nothing happens. I tried a second time and enabled the xml log and nothing was saved anywhere.

I've heard using port 3-8 works better. But I'm not entirely sure. Try changing the port maybe?

I never had any problem at Port 4. Also, when it says Ready, try left-clicking the Ready text, then you might be able to do what you want to do (I think this was required for the jcase rooting method, might be required here).

Thanks, it worked very well with my VM Elite. It was better than out of the box becauseit was still activated. I ordered a replacement from VM before I found your great service but its okay, I can experiment a little with the old one for a week or so reset it and have a little more knowledge. Thank you again for the edge.

Thank you so much! I just unbricked my Virgin Mobile Elite with this method. My ROM crashed and CWM was stuck in a boot loop with no options.

Phone is all good now. Thanks again!

i have tried like everything on this post. My phone has been in "download is in progress. do not disconnect cable." since i did do something stupid and downloaded rom manager. i know that this is my fault but is my phone f%^ked...

Anybody... I have tried every step, every method to either restore my vm optimus elite or unbrick it... It's permantly stuck in download mode. In lgnpst it's in emergency mode, in lg flash tool it stops when it's checking for cell phone and computer connection. The androidnet USB drivers couldn't install either. My phone is still able to turn on but it's stuck in download. Please help

It sounds like your phone is soft-bricked and can be fixed using my method.

Also, consider mentioning that to get to download mode, you press the volume buttons while the phone is powered off. It took me a while to try that one. :)

Firstly, thanks very much for posting these files and instructions.
I've gone through the steps a multitude of times. I've tried every port, and I've uninstalled, reinstalled the LG drivers repeatedly, but still all I get is "READY!!" below the port name. I'm not sure what is wrong.

Edit: I resolved my problem. If anybody is having the same problem with the Flash Tool in Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3, the solution for me was to log in directly to the Administrator account, right click on LGFLashtool.exe > Right click > Run as > Administrator, and uncheck "Protect my computer and data from unauthorized program activity [...]"
I hope that that might save somebody from some of the hassles I was just having. Thanks again to the author of the original post.

When I go to run LGFlashTool as admin I get an error saying "This application has failed to start because its side by side configuration is incorrect". Any ideas? Ive never seen that before.

Hey virgin mobile users, anybody had a issue with my method about unbricking there device. I got some pm saying it doesn't work. Or is the user not reading the directions? Please send me some feedback

As far as I know it's worked for everyone, myself included, aside from the person who PMed you.
