Root [UNOFFICIAL][CAF][4.4.4] Cyanogenmod 11 Stable Build 2 (tom1957's camcorder/hq youtube/green tint)

I want to flash this but damn I don't want to break lte again. Has anyone here flashed over the stock zv5 and kept lte in tact?

I've flashed it a bunch of times on both my virgin and boost volts and have not had lte breakage. It's something with lollipop that breaks it.

It's not bad_mofo's cm12 that is to blame at all for lte breakage also. The l90 or d415 or whatever phones got a baseband update to go along with lollipop, which is something that is lg's fault for not providing us with at the moment since something in lollipop breaks our modem image.

Someone should petition lg to release kernel sources, at least the updated baseband for the volt on lollipop. Might get us further. That or dissect both our kitkat baseband and the one for the d415 lollipop and see what the differences are and if we can hack something together to fix lg's lazyness on releasing an update for us when similar phones got it.

Does snapchat work for pictures whatever going to flash this on my phone tired of stock rom from LG.

Also is virgin mobile dead they have no new phones up?

I think they may be rolling it into boost mobile...noticed the lack of phones myself, and just got a notification of an automatic plan change. Looks like the new plan lines up with Boost's offerings. Did always wonder why Sprint ran 2 similar pre-paid services.

On a note more related to this thread, I may have figured out the audio playback issues, kinda.

I was getting the audio chop on a 5 minute interval, and it finally dawned on me that I have a server monitor (aNag) that was sending notifications every 5 minutes. Normally, the music is 'ducked' and you hear the notification at full volume. Instead, it was just chopping out.

Installed the PowerAmp trial, and disabled audio ducking. So far, I have clean playback! Sucks that this is a paid solution, but hey. Sounds like newer lollipop versions have this option baked in.

The widely accepted solution for some camera issues is to use a alternative app, as mentioned before use Camu. Works great for me, even allows for video recording, link below. If you use the lockscreen camera shortcut Cyanogenmod 11 should let you change which app it opens, I only tested this with Camu

I tried switching apps on the other rom (cm12) but in there im getting green tinted pictures. See this post:

Im about to try this rom (cm11) shortly after i get home. I'll report back if I have any issues.

Any news/updates for this ROM?

News is that I "upgraded" to a g stylo. I gave my boost volt to my brother in law, but still have my virgin volt.

That means that I cant run tests on my own to see if I fixed the green camera issue, since my white volt never had the issue. Also it's packed away till next week after I move.

I do plan on some update, just gotta find the time. I can probably ask some devs way better than I for help to fix the remaining issues.

Just flashed this ROM yesterday, I believe it will be my daily driver for quite a while. The only complaint I have is that my phone would restart automatically multiple times a day, but this was fixed by wiping dalvik. Great work @whoshotjr2006

New build up. Credit to tom1957 for figuring out camcorder, hq youtube on some videos and hopefully a green tint patch. Also repo synced cm11 source to their final, and has the stagefright vulnerability patched finally.

Edit: Sometimes working HQ Youtube is already known, i need people to tell me if their cameras are still green tinting.

Damn near perfect! Lets hit that final stretch, if you guys have any suggestions to fix the remaining problems, im all ears and will do what i can to get to the finish line.

Tested and it's better than ever. I think I'll keep this one installed as my daily driver. I never had green tint in the camera app ever no matter the rom so that never was an issue however as mentioned recording videos with the included CM Camera app NOW WORKS!! It's awesome, tested a game I really liked and that went smoothly. Calls are clear, texts work. AWESOME WORK @whoshotjr2006 and @tom1957

Tested on a LG Volt, black model, with Boost Mobile cellular service with ZV6 Radio and TWRP 2.8.7.0 flashed

Tested and working:
Calling
Texting
Cellular Data LTE
Cellular Data 3G
Wifi
Pictures (No green camera tint)
Camcorder (No green camera tint)
FM Radio
Audio
Bluetooth
Bluetooth Audio
Calling using bluetooth headset, headset tested LG HBS730
A game called "Hitman:Sniper"
Google services and related apps
Casting screen (built in not through chromecast app)

Tested with partial success:
HD 480p video playback in some apps (namely youtube)

Not tested:
GPS
NFC
IR Blaster (no known app for this in CM)

The only edit I made was to the fstab.x5 and init.x5.rc so that the external SD card would show up as the internal data using "Android Image Kitchen" What I cannot figure out is how to get the now abandoned internal data partition (/dev/block/mmcblk0p34) to show up as the external SD card so it can be used for storage and be seen/used from a connected PC over MTP. Any ideas @whoshotjr2006?

I'm on a Boost Volt and did a clean flash, but I still get the green tint with the rear camera while taking stills. Video recording works with internal storage (no green tint), but the camera app crashes when I try to shoot video while it's set to save to External SD.

Wifi, GPS, Bluetooth, 3G, WiFi Hotspot all seem to be working very well. The handful of YouTube videos I tried all played smoothly, but I didn't have any resolution options above 360P. Feels like it's getting closer to DD status, but since my phone is my primary camera, the tint really sucks.

I wonder if all videos will be 480p+ if you use the OGMods modded YouTube app that allows videos to be played in max quality (1440p)

I will get right on that!

Edit: Nope. Still only in 360p, but you can download the videos with OG YouTube in any resolution and it plays just fine. It might not be as convenient, but its there.

Yet another edit: I apologize as I'm not used to this app, but it is possible to play in 480p. It's not just a gimmick as it looks much better than 360p and it takes longer to load lol. Thank you to DeltaXzombies!
