well, so far she hasn't crashed but i am getting errors ive never seen when compiling...might have fried some ram. i will let memtest run tonight when i go to bed. fried ram is better than a fried cpu any day though =)
 
seems as though a few real geeks check in on this thread, any ideas on what i could do with a headless powerbook g4?

man it's been so long since i've messed with os x, i forgot it had ssh. the only problem is the dvi port on the back shorts out so it might be tough trying to edit the /etc/hosts file. i was trying to install slackintosh to see if that would get me past openfirmware but since you said that i'll probably just leave os x on it! its got an airport card too, i could put it anywhere =)

yeah the monitor is out, some guy at work gave it to me to see if i could work on it but the monitor hinges are broke and the cables are shredded. would have to dig around on ebay to find replacement cables. free g4 though!
 
ok, so i flashed this rom all over again. after first boot, re-booted into recovery and flashed mms fix... EVERYTHING was working good. i then got back into recovery to flash the r.O.C.K-v0.3-signed.zip. after that, my wifi dont work. any ideas??

That doesn't mean yours can't go higher :)

Download the zip to your sdcard.
Reboot into recovery.
Wipe your cache and dalvik cache.
Flash and reboot.

You will need setcpu or a similar program to change frequencies. I have to configure the gbrom so the cmod7 settings will have that ability. Hit the thanks button if this helps and the donate link if it really really helps :)

This version works with any rom and wifi modules were compiled separately so wifi works right out of the box.

Lower set CPU Max Version, people with boot loops test this update

Battery Calibration install this and let your battery fully charge. The run the app, unplug the charger and calibrate. This should be done after flashing a new rom or kernel.

I got mms working with no patch required. Gotta get rid of the roaming indicator and I will post an alpha build.

I agree that 3 post of essentially the same rom is alittle "overkill". I didn't really see the point in the one released after bobz's build as it was the same thing with less stuff working. I would like to release on the basis of improvement but I guess I don't have to release it. Could just use my own build personally. I guess no one will be interested when I finally get the screen animations and in rom clock speed changing working.

I never said I wouldn't be interested. I'm very interested in fact (see my post a couple back where I said yay). Please keep working to fix the bugs.

Haha no worries man. I will still be working on fixes. I've been learning and debugging stuff since o got this phone. I was just taking an immature stab of sarcasm at the previous post. I will post whatever improvements that I make. If it annoys him he doesn't have to use the rom or even read the thread. I seem to remember there being about 4 or 5 roms based off of stock but no one complained about that.
