Root Unroot HELP NOT WORKING :(

Thru htcdev but I think I mess up the root my original root files are not on my sd card for some reason and I'm rooted with s-on

not sure what you mean by root files. so it looks like you unlocked your bootloader, i'm just curious as to how you have hboot 2.10 with s-on and a custom recovery.

so lets do this i would delete the amon ra file off of your sd card. and then try this one:amon ra_2.3.zip

Why is that? ? Is it inpossable to have. Is that good or bad.? I didn't have this much problems when I rooted my evo shift

well in order to have an unlocked bootloader you would have to have a hboot of 2.18. now to root it you can unlock the bootloader and have s-on and be done there. but for some you can downgrade your bootloader to hboot 2.10 (which you have), it will relock your bootloader and then you can use revolutionary. what you have is kind of odd, with an unlocked bootloader and a hboot 2.10........ so that is why i asked about how you rooted it.

it might be why you can't install the PC36IMG of amon ra 2.3. i could be wrong.

also there are other ways to get amon ra installed.

and it was so much easier with the previous ota's. just remember with each new updates the evo gets, the harder it is to root the phone.

Its 2.18 just check I fix it just now and hmm that's why its so hard to get it. Is there a way to downgrade my software so I can use an ruu that will work because I have tried to use the unroot guide that was posted in this and many forms and I have had no luck I was told by a friend that there was an ruu out but I didn't find it. So I can unroot then root it with that same guide so I can have the right stuff

no need to unroot and re-root. so do you want to get fully s-off? it is more involved and i suggest that you take the time to read, read and then read some more before diving into it. here is the guide you want:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...-rooting-gingerbread-2-3-5-dummies-guide.html. you want to do either the captn's method or taco root.

also the htc dev method will explain how to get a recovery onto your phone. there are three ways to do it. the PC36IMG method is just one of them. i suggest that you try the adb method.

ok so i see that you have some choices to make:
1.you can flash a different rom if you like even with the recovery you have now.
2.we can switch recoveries and then flash a different rom
3.you can try and get s-off

so let me know what you want to do and i can walk you thru it, if you like.

I like the rom and I would like to change recovery to amora ra and also get s-off would i be able to do it without a computer being is that USB teather my phone to my desktop

to get fully s-off you will need to use your computer.

and one thing about cm7.2, it is an aosp rom. this means that it does not have htc's sense overlay. onething i was going to recommend to help with your call issues was to update prl and profile. however you cannot do it on an aosp rom. you can only do it on a sense based rom like mikg3.11.

so to change to amon ra please read the guide. under the HTCdev method in step#2, you will find info on how to get amon ra2.3. there are three ways to do it. try the adb method.

Do u have a link for MikG 3.11 ROM??

Installed the ROM and it works great I'm loveing it but now the gapps zip i download rodent work and there is no googleplay store should I reinstall it? And thanks again u guys are great
You do not need the gapps zip with MikG3.11.
There seems to be an issue with the play store missing when folks flash MikG...is it missing from your app drawer also?

I'll get you a link for the play store in minute...stand by:)

Edit: found it....
Just download it to computer, transfer to your sd card, then click on it from your sd card and install....no need to flash it...it's an apk file :)
gglply3.9.16.apk

Ok thanks ur awesome. Would it work if I do it on my phone and move it to the root of my sd card since I'm away from my computer

Sure! If you use your phone, it may appear in your downloads folder instead of your sd card. Then just install from there, that's all...no worries:)

Ok and do I reboot my phone? Because it is not showing up after it says its installed and also a message comes up not sure what it said because it gos off to fast

hmm...yeah, go ahead and reboot, then check your app drawer.
Also go into menu/settings/applications/manage applications/all and see if it is listed there too....it will be listed as the play store....
Let me know what happens:)
