I think you have to unzip it first..
inside the downloaded zip is another zip.

yeah, i unzipped it already..doesnt work..i also wonder why there is a recovery.img included in the zip

This is very odd, mine came up with the same error, but when I rebooted and checked the settings, it came up under Mod Version with 'SwiftDroid-v2.0 M5 (based on CyanogenMod-7.1.0-RC0) o.O

Guys, I am confused....

Heres what i tried to do:

I downloaded the recovery version and i bought the paid version of the clockwork rom manager.I chose intall rom from SD card and i picked the zip file i downloaded. It rebooted and i got a screen with the android robot and an exclamation mark. When i pressed a key i got the recovery menu and some instructions about some sort of error. I rebooted into my normal 1.4b and refunded the rom manager :P. Then i downloaded the .exe version which just waits for the device that never shows up... (usb debugging mode is checked but it doesnt seem to work)

Did i do something wrong? Was i supposed to do something else? Is this some sort of bug or what?

The .exe installer, you dont put the phone into debugging mode, you put it in fastboot mode. Turn off the phone then hold the camera button and power on, keep holding the power button while the LG logo shows. You'll then see a blank screen, your in fastboot mode. Connect to the computer and it'll work.

As always, you re right. But heres the funny thing.within a couple of seconds(too quickly to have installed anything) it gave me a couple of messages and said my phone will reboot into the cyanogen mod but the phone rebooted and i it seems to be stuck at the swiftdroid boot screen and doesnt seem to be doing anything at all. What might that mean ?
 
Btw i was hoping this would be fixed but does anyone know if it possible to use the radio receiver or maybe how to use a non standard wired hands-free? I ve used mine with an iphone and it worked but it doesnt work on my optimus. These are the only 2 things i miss right now

What d'you mean radio receiver? As for another wired headset I'm not sure, haven't got one to test..
 
whoops sorry i didnt see the FM radio app.I thought there wasnt one like there wasnt one in 1.4b.My bad :p

I wish i could use my hands free though....
 
Actually i am talking about a wired hands free but it itsnt the one that came with the phone. Its a 'generic' one that does indeed work with an iphone for an example but not with the optimus. I ve never had a bluetooth hands free ever so i dont really care

Hi..i am planning to upgrade my gt540 to newest version..i have couple of questions:
what the latest one i can get??i heard bout 2.3.2 and 2.3.3
And also,wil i be still able to download games and apps on market??

You can get 2.3.4 & this is the thread about it :p And, yes, Market works just fine :D
