us galaxy s3 will get no key lime pie

i think the s3 will get 4.2 sooner than later somebody will most definitely port it over its going to happen one day soon as soon as they figure out how to incorporate grammar into samsungs keyboard its just a matter of time i hope anyway dont you i say dont you yeah thats what i thought i knew you would too
i like them french fried taters and biscuits with mustard mmhunm...
i dont reckon i got no reason ta kill nobody... mmhunm...

What you doing with that Lawnmower blade Carl?

I intend to kill you wit it.

Bwahahahahaha

I agree with N4zty... someone WILL port it over, but considering how long we've already had 4.2 - and it's STILL unstable and buggy as all hell... I wouldn't bet the farm that we'll get a stable version anytime soon after release.

I want klp as much as anyone, but I'd rather run a stable Froyo than a bug pie. lol

Careful what you wish for cause froyo was a complete mess. But it was the start (oR middle) of something great

It will get it. SOMEONE will ROM it. It's the FREAKING S3. Only the most popular phone of 2012. It will have 5.0 one way or another.

And no. I refuse to own a Motorola phone regardless of what's in it. It could please me sexually daily and I still wouldn't buy it. Too much? lol

I've had the N4 a month and I plan on holding on to it until the N5 is a couple months old.
True true sir haha

Ha wats wrong with motorola when google owns it now?

I see idk I'm thinking of getting a google phone next but idk if I should get the google x phone or the next nexus I need your advice lol :p

Wait until November when all of the old Motorola designs are out of the pipeline. Then see about a Google-Motorola device. They have to push out the old designs first - up to 18 months worth from the time of the merger.

Also the update will come from Samsung via kies, they are updating all their products via kies even the Galaxy Tap/Galaxy tab 2.

I depends. You have to wait to see who takes on the next Nexus. Hopefully LG.

So a Nexus 5 by LG or Moto X? N5

Nexus 5 by Moto or Moto X? N5

Nexus 5 by Sammy or Moto X? N5

Catching my trend here? lol

But if you like Moto then keep it in consideration. Now that I've owned a pure Google device, I'll prolly never NOT own one.

A Motorola nexus would be awesome...especially if it had the DROID razer maxx hd shape with kevlar and a good battery...my opinion :)...

i see i never had a motorola but from all the bad support i hear from others it kinda of stops me from getting a motorola a good example for bad support from moto was the moto triumph so much issues=/

It depends on how you do it. Unlocking the bootloader, flashing a factory image or choosing to wipe the sd will clear out everything. However a standard factory reset/rom flash or a "dirty" flash should leave it intact.

Exactly what jhawkkw said.

Think of your internal storage as an SD card that you can't take out. This goes for any phone, not just the Nexus'. Or Nexi. Whatever the plural would be. haha

Apps still get deleted because they aren't stored on the sdcard portion of the internal memory, but rather in the /data folder. A factory reset is programmed to wipe the internal memory, but skip over the sdcard folder to leave that intact. This is where music, pictures, downloads, etc are stored.

i see i guess but for some reason idk ive never had a phone with no sd card slot lol

and from what i know s3 dual core might not get keylimepie im thinking we gonna be not getting some features either from 4.2.2 if you ask why look at jelly bean 4.1.2 no premium features were added to any U.S s3

The premium suit is not native to 4.1.2. That is an extra added into android by Samsung and this it's their decision to make it available. Only Nexus devices and 2 Asus tablets have any official version of 4.2 at this point, and any feature of 4.2 will be in every build. Samsung or other oems could choose to hide them from users though with their custom skin or framework. This will most likely happen with the block toggles new to 4.2 some most oems have had them for a while.

Moved to the general gs3 subforum since this is more of a samsung galaxy s3 general discussion. :) continue discussion here!

also just wanted to say im sorry but the multi-view mod was never all that. to be honest since using it i've never had the need to use it. although im sure if i gave it a chance i might end up using it some.

Wish i had it on my nexus 7, dont see myaelf using it too often on the phone.

I also wish netflix would continue streaming as i checked email or something but it doesnt function like that

Now that this is in the general forums and will be seen by more ill reiterate that theres no solid evidence that the us s3 wont get klp.

Any mention of a core requirement is speculation at best

Exactly. Of the European version gets out i doubt the 2 less cores is going to stop the us variant from getting it. Sure the us one has got extra ram anyway to compensate.

This is from the link below.
"Gotta Be Mobile notes that there is no indication as to whether this cutoff for Key Lime Pie with quad-core processors originates from Samsung or from Google."

Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie Update Not Coming to Samsung Galaxy S3 US Variant Due To Dual-Core Processor?

I don't put a lot of faith in this article, but if this were to be true, the decision would be Samsung's, not Google. As I mentioned in an earlier post, can you imagine the uproar if the Nexus 10(which is dual-core), released only 5 months ago, were to not get it. Plus they talked about a Nexus 5, which there has been no indication of anything coming anytime soon. Nexus phones have always been released at the end of a calendar year since the Nexus S(2nd Gen). That takes the credibility down a notch IMO.

i think its pretty stupid how samsung lacks support on features ffor US s3 its pretty dum all cause lte not wanting to play right with the quad core back then=/
