Root Velocity 1.0 Splash screen... Half & Half?

New user of the Ally (but not the community as a whole... used to be the Wife's phone). Flashed Velocity 1.0 straight out of the gate, and loving the crap out of this Rom!

On to the topic.

When I changed the Splash screen and rebooted, I was dismayed to find the following happen:

Initial boot sequence:
[Power button]
Desired splash screen comes up... but cut in half?
I can't describe it.. Here's a Pic... Yes it's blurry as crap...

PICT0003.jpg

As you can see, the picture is....halved and backwards? or just pushed off the side of a wrapped screen?

I'm clueless.

Afterwards, the grey Velocity spash screen comes up, perfectly normal...And then the Boot animation, also perfectly normal.

I don't know if I should be looking at some logs to give more info... or what...

I've wiped Cache, reverted to a Nandroid before I made any changes to the Rom (Odex, Dalvik to SD, Overclock, Boot Animation, splash screen, Apps... etc...) and still no change in this splash screen oddity...

I'm going to back everything up and flash back to Rooted Froyo (oh yes, all my bases are covered) to see if this makes a difference.

Am I missing something?

Thanks...

Splash screen resides on a seperate partition on the device. so any changes you make to data/system/cache wont affect the splash image. and if flashing back using nandroid/zip file probably wont change anything either. try flashing the stock LG boot splash from the frunisher thread

So.

I feel like I have said this a few times already....

Splash screen images can get corrupted easilly and the best way to fix it is to reflash the splash from the script.... This should be the first and only troubleshooting step, dont go clearing data, or reflashing the rom, just flash the same splash again, or another... If you repeatedly get the SAME results when flashing, then we have a problem.

As it stands flashing a splash has about an 80% success rate. But since it doesnt cause any harm when it fails im not too worried, you just reflash

EDIT: and d2a the stock splash in in the script, probably a little easier than sending people off to do it manually

Sav, not sure how I missed that post while searching, but I appreciate the help.

Both D2A & Sav: Thanks for the Super-fast input, you guys are the best.

No Seriously, I've been following all the Drama going on, and I totally admire your patience during all the BS.

Will update after flashing the new splash screen.

OK, I finally got it to work.

I cleared the Script Download Cache (per Sav the image may have been corrupt, best to start from scratch, eh?) and flashed the LG splash image... No dice, this time got a blue screen as a splash.
Re-flashed, got the LG splash image. Sweet.

Cleared Script cache again, flashed my splash screen of choice, and the LG splash screen was what I got upon reboot...
Re-flashed SS of choice, and it took.

Savoxis, thanks again for the tip.

D2A, thanks for the effort, appreciated!
