Verizon Fascinate

I think it looks nice.
It does resemble the iPhone...but at least it doesn't look like exactly the iPhone 4. YUCK ;)
 
Peekaboo! AHHHHHH! lol

Just popping in because I was curious at what the Verizon Fascinate looks like. I must say it looks better than the original Galaxy S. The UI is umm... "eh"?
 
i like the sprint version. the verizon version looks like some old crapple.the back is hideous.....but the guts of this device is what it is all about. Well unless youre an apple fan, and all you need out of a phone is a nice shell.
 
Pretty sad that Samsung had to resort to replicating an iphone like phone in order to secure sales. The phone physically looks like an iphone and the UI is intended to mimic it as well.
 
I think it is an interesting offering... 4.0" screen will be just a bit bigger than the incredible but hopefully not as big as the EVO4g or Droid X as, to me, those are both too big. I'm waiting on more information about size and performance...
 
Still waiting on a release date. I also want to get a hands on. Next to Droid X, it looks almost as big. Hope the phone is not to big and is released very soon.
 
I was in the Verizon store and the store manager today said She thought it would be mid August as V was trying to find ways to fill the demand void created by the lack of Droid Incredibles. She called the current Incredible fiasco an "unmitigated disaster".

hmmmm i hope this phone turns out great and is rooted and flashed quick.
 
Agreed. I think too many people are focusing on the lack of FFC or large internal storage. FFC is useless to me, the internal memory I understand to a degree but prior to the Incredible, internal memory was nonexistent on Android phones and we somehow got by just ok. All of a sudden, you give a little and everyone goes crazy cause its missing or not as much on a different phone. We got LED Flash, which makes me more happy than either of the above.

I will be getting the Fascinate, and not the X :)
 
When the Fascinate gets FROYO 2.2 the internal storage issue should become less of a concern because apps then can be stored on the micro SD card. Right?

yes. Although theoretically, since its not on board ram it will suffer from a small amount of latency. I really dont know if its really that noticeable.....

I feel that if you get a high class msd card, it should help the latency. Also, froyo should speed it up as well.....but like i said i cant really say if its something that will be noticeable by seconds, or if we are talking thousandths of a second here........
 
Only thing I dislike Samsung Fascinate is BING!

Is there a way for me to remove bing search/bing map ?

I want install goggle nav and seach.
 
another big omission for me, is that this phone does not have an LED indicator. i think i'll stick with the droid x.
 
When I look at the Fascinate screen on youtube, why does it look so much better than everything else. I was really leaning toward the X, but this screen is so captivating. It's amazing! Is it me? Is it youtube? Or is it true? Is this screen so much better than everything else out there?

I am with you on that...It looks outstanding... plus the design in my opinion is sleek and sexy!!! :)
