Verizon Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

Given that my phone order was only showing the order number on the Order Status page, I called and verified that my Ship By date was still 07/10/12 (2 day shipping) as shown on my original email confirmation :hmpf:.

At least they still have a record of the pre-order .

I've been trying that one for a week now, always with the same message when entering my info:

"We are experiencing technical difficulties, please check back later"

I'm guessing because it's a business account, but I'm not sure.

Mine was saying that yesterday... but now takes me to a page with the order number and a blank tracking number, so who knows what that means.

Also, the Location code must be put in correctly. My location code is P218101, but if I enter it as P2181-01 like the help suggests, it gives the error, and if I enter it as p218101, it also throws the error.

You MUST capitalize the letter in your location code (applies to phone orders).

So...the verizon rep thinks I might not get mine till Tuesday due to the fires in colorado... I'm hoping that FedEx accepts the shipment tomorrow(Verizon said it has shipped, but in reality it hasn't yet... just checked in) and gets it to me by friday or monday at the latest. Kinda odd that some that ordered later will have theirs tomorrow! Congrats to those that will have them tomorrow, you'll have to keep us updated on how they are. :D

I'd be surprised if the fires cause a delay in the delivery of your phone. At my work we get a TON of fedex deliveries (1-2 dedicated trucks daily mostly overnight deliveries) and we have seen no delay's or interruptions since the fires.

Mine has standard overnight delivery. I find the whole thing odd. I see many are shipping from PA. I live in PA but mine is shipping from Memphis...Seems like things could have been easier if it just shipped from PA since I live here. My phone still says it has "arrived at fedex location" in Memphis TN. It has 19 hours to get to PA from Memphis. For some reason I just don't expect it to actually be here tomorrow.

Let's hope not. Just want FedEx to update the info so I can know which day to take off or take a half day. haha. I'm ready for the new toy. :D. I'm usually one of the crazy techy people out at best buy on black friday... it's nice to order it online, minus the wait time. haha

Could be worse, mine still says the 11th. :(

To be fair though, I didn't order until the 22nd, so I wasn't really expecting it any sooner.

There's always someone worse. I didn't order until 8:30pm on the 27th. I'll be surprised if mine actually ships on the 11th.

So far, I haven't seen any Texas shipments ~and just my case there has been allow me to believe this is a regional conspiracy as to why I have yet to be blessed with confirmation emails ~ lol....
waiting.... waiting..... waiting....

Nope nothing for me yet either, so it's not just a Houston thing...guess it's a Texas thing. Frankly, I think us Texans should have gotten the international version a month ago with everyone else as everyone here thinks Texas is it's own country.

Now off to go drink a Lone Star beer. Their slogan..."The National Beer of Texas." No joke.

No phone for this Texan either, guess I'll have another Shiner to make me feel better about it.....

I wonder why some, like mine, are coming "Standard Overnight shipping" and others are going 2 day?

It probably means that yours will only travel overnight for a total of 3 nights and arrive on Friday just like all the rest of ours. During the day, it will travel around the nearest large cities and take in some of the sights. :D

Now that is insane!

When I preordered an iphone it did the same thing. I am also in pa and I was like why is mine coming from memphis when others who are farther away are getting theirs shipped from memphis. Maybe so many ship from a certain place and then they move the next batch to another facility no matter how close or far away from it you are.

What do I think what? If there should be one? Sure, why not? The more camaraderie we have between members the better! That's what sets AF apart... great members helping and conversing with each other! :D

Glad you agree. Once everyone receives their preorders that should just about put a nail in the coffin of this thread. I feel that the S3 watering hole will be a great place for everyone to hang out & bounce stuff off of each other no matter what the topic. I know I have enjoyed my time on this thread w/ everyone & the S3 watering hole would be a great place to extend our relationships/friendships that we have, or at least I think we do. Rest asure the thread is for all S3 folks, not just us Verizon customers. So people if you want to do this thing get the word out to the other carrier folks & we can get the ball rolling whenever you want. The thread has already been started so I'll let someone move forward w/ it from this point. If it works great, if not I'm sure I will see you folks around.

Went to the nationals game today and they had a huge lounge setup with tons of S3's to play with. First time I got to hold one. Incredible! So pumped.

First reaction was that it was so damn light and thin!
