Verizon Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

Verizon really grinds my gears.

I preordered the s3 at 7 am on the first day we could. All is fine and dandy.
I added a line to my plan yesterday, and ordered another S3..all seems fine until I check the shipping information and they completely goofed up the address. It doesn't have the name that I asked them to ship to, just an address, which happens to be my place of work. So I went back and checked my original pre order and the address is ok, except for the name. Its shipping to the account owner and not ME. So its shipping to my place of work, for someone who doesnt even work at the company.

I called verizon and now they are telling me they cant find my orders at all and want me to reorder.
If I check the status it tells me they will ship on the 9th and 11th...WTF

Glad I have spent over 800 dollars and who knows if they will even find me.
 
Mine still says July 11th.

You know what they say about watched pots, right? We're totally at their mercy. It will get here when it gets here. :D
 
Zoinks!! Me too - I just remembered I go on an out of state vacation 13th-17th.

All the phones I have ordered from VZW came by Fedex, signature required. They make 4 attempts to deliver, and then send the package back. Hope you won't be gone >5 days. :D



However, if you can't have someone there to sign, they will usually hold a package at your nearest Fedex depot if you call and ask them to.

Good luck with this! :( I had a billing issue on my preorder (called at 6:00am on the DOT!) because I wanted my phone shipped to my work since i'm never home when fedex would arrive. When i got the confirmation email i didn't check it closely until last week and i saw that the BILLING ADDRESS and SHIPPING ADDRESS were both my work :(

Of course that would screw up when they tried to charge my mastercard (which they've had on file over a year) and the billing address did not match my work address.

I talked to 2 different CSR's and 1 supervisor and they said there is NO WAY to touch the billing address (only the shipping) on these preorders. So if i wanted to fix it, i had to cancel and reorder. Which i did, but got them to drop the $30 upgrade fee since i lost about 2 million places in line :(

But i HAD to fix it because if i don't preorder i will lose my unlimited data and if it tried to charge the card on July 8 or 9 and got rejected and i had to reorder at that point they might not let me get it subsidized with my unlimited....

So now mine is shipping July 11 instead of 9 :( If those ship dates stay true it won't matter since i'm on vacation from the 6th to the 14th but if they end up coming early and i miss it that would suck!

Yea the agent I spoke to said they couldn't find it and would call me back at noon, its 1 now...I really don't want to a cancel and have to wait even longer..yea its only 2 days, but that's NOT the point of pre ordering early so you don't have to wait.
Now that I look at it billing address is all wrong too, for both orders..sign
 
Samsung said component shortages have been resolved and it is running at full tilt to meet demand. "It is simply that demand far exceeded our expectation. But that doesn't mean we had set a very conservative demand forecast," Samsung said in an emailed statement to Reuters.

If that is correct everything is looking good :)

Ugh...my Droid X battery just started going downhill fast. I ordered a new battery (they're only $4) to hold me over. I hope it gets here before the weekend.

On the positive side, our cases and car mounts arrived yesterday!

Ok, I ordered through my hometown store (I know the owner and want them to have the profits from me getting it through them). The phone is being shipped there and then they are going to ship it to me (or I will have someone bring it to me so I can get it faster) because I am at college. Is there any way for me to check to see when my phone will get there?? I have tried my verizon wireless but if I check my order history it is not there... It shows that I have a device that needs to be activated when I check my upgrade status but no way to check on it there either. Will I just have to (un)patiently wait for the phone call saying its there or is there any way I can see?

Perhaps were are better off with a two week cushion and some bugs may be fixed through an update :)

Then again, VZW would need to go through their lethargic update process before we see it. Probably add more bloat too..... Nothing to see here people, move along.

That would be sweet if verizon was doing their homework on some bugs and issues the internationals are having with their sg3 and try to fix some of them, but I doubt it.

The store you ordered from should hve a preorder confirmation number for you. Call them and ask for that
 
What do you guys think in-store stock will look like once the phone launches? There's a good chance I'll want to exchange my marble white one for pebble blue.

This is correct, you can ask them to hold it. I do not know the exact time but at least a week they will hold it. If this is not good enough maybe you can modify your order and have it delivered elsewhere. I think on the status page for preorder cancel and modify were both options.

I really think the store launches will be limited for a few weeks. I could be wrong but just looking at the delay in production for the 32GB models exchanging in the first week might be tough. I could be wrong though. I think its better to have the phone for a week to see if the white grows on you. I am in the same boat. I ordered white.
 
Well I bought a clear case and a white bumper, so I'm sticking to my white phone. My ship date also finally got updated. Ordered on 6/12 and just saw a 7/9 ship date today. The days are going SOOOO slow waiting for this damn thing...

Opposite here, I ordered blue and changed to white today. :)

But just happened to stop by my local tmobile store just to 'check'
Sure enough they just received 2 blue sgIII's. Wow now im more peeved at big red :'( the phone is awesome!
They even have it just for sale! Not a preorder...i was almost tempted to get it and then return it... ;-)
I shouldn't have gone in......
 
If you want a 16gb, I can see being peeved that other carriers are at least moving units to customers, but nobody has seen a 32gb yet, including demo and review units.

Frankly and Fredly, I am starting to doubt the ninth for 32 gig peeps.
 
Ugh...my Droid X battery just started going downhill fast.

The swelling on mine is getting worse. Now when it's 100% it creates a spot when I touch the screen. This stops when the battery gets to less than 70%. I've got a couple of aftermarket cheapos, but they don't send the battery info to the phone. I guess I'm gonna have to switch to those for the next two weeks. Argh!
