what I keep fearing they will do.....

Now, I realize this topic has been discussed to death and I will probably star a riot with this thread, but I just can't shake this uneasy feeling about Verizon and the whole unlimited data/G3 pre-order thing....I've been struggling with it all month since they made the announcement and today I finally ordered my G3, but even after walking through the order process, I still don't trust Verizon at the end of the day (as I'm sure we all have our reasons not to). I've read the Droid-Life article where they claim they've spoke to "Verizon

Here are a couple pics i grabbed from the XDA forums. May not bother some, but that looks hideous to me.

I thought this unlimited data/pre-order debate was over 13 pages ago.

I know this is an open forum, and everyone including myself is welcome to post, but I personally wish people would read up on this.

The key here is to ask yourself this question and then think twice ......"do I really want to ask about unlimited data"? "Is there anything anyone can tell me that's really new?"

Hello to all, I am new to the forums here. I checked my order status and have a 7/11 ship date, ordered it online on 6/16

Ordered the 32gig in Pebble Blue....Upgraded from an HTC Thunderbolt

Amen !!!

Well, I don't have much to add to this thread at this point, but as of tonight I've pre-ordered 4 GS3s for myself, my wife, and two other users on my family share plan. We all had upgrades due and unlimited data to keep, so it seemed like a no-brainer. I kind of leaned on everyone to jump on this, so hope this phone lives up to expectations or I'll never hear the end of it. :) I ordered mine the first day of pre-orders, so I'll get mine first. The 9th can't come soon enough, my OG Dinc pretty much needs to stay plugged in all the time now. :p

The only thing I really want now is a legit car dock and for Seidio to release their spring clip holster for a naked phone.

Looks like a nice phone to me. You're on the best carrier in the us. If it said t mobile I can understand not being thrilled with advertising that, but what's so bad about the the Verizon logo?

I talked to a sales rep on the phone tonight and he said that any new phone activated after the 28th would require one of the new plans... even a preordered SG3.

I had to talk with a VZW rep today as well. I had some questions about my account and then I turned my attention to the S3. He said in his information the release date was showing July 9th. I asked about the June 28th thing. He said it didn't matter if you pre-ordered a phone, it's based on when the phone is activated. So, even if you pre-order it, the S3 will not be released until July 9th, so activation will have to be July 9th or after and that will cause that phone to move to the new shared plan. Of course on my account I have 5 phones and two of those are non-data phones. So, he said I could upgrade one of those and then immediately move it over to my line and not lose unlimited data. :)

Look at your pre-order emails. It says right there in black and white "EMAIL & WEB UNLIMITED $29.99". They try to mess with it and I will do everything in my power (including the court system) to make it right.

Not trying to stir anything up. Just sharing the information he gave me. Whether it turns out to be correct or not, we will only know once it happens. But he said it was based on phone activation and not on order or pre-order. he said any phone activated after June 28th would have to go on the new plan structure. I hope he's not correct.

Please tell me that home button isn't maroon. If they mess with the blue one I may be running around on the 10th to find a white one instore to exchange with

I posted this way back when, but when I talked to the CSR the day before pre-orders began, I was told that it goes by order date and not activation date.

The whole left hand, right hand thing here....

sounds incorrect to me, because when you order your phone you have to decide the plans it will use. a limited data plan isn't the same pricing. so if they change it when you activate they would be violating their own terms.

The rep you spoke with was incorrect about the s3

You guys may want to read the Verizon training materials that are available online. They can't be clearer.

People on here can't even read the posts on this website, hense the same questions being asked over & over again. Asking people to read the Verizon training materials is a bit much.

I'm not asking a question. I simply posted the information I was given from the VZW rep. He may be incorrect or he may be correct, but that's what he told me. Man, everyone's on pins and needles around here aren't they?

Relax and enjoy life, it's to short to be so uptight :smokingsomb:

All of what you said is true...for all phone excluding the S3. Verizon came out and specifically said that whoever orders the s3 prior to the 28th, and still have unlimited data (not everyone does) will get to keep that unlimited data ($29.99) when they switch over.

I think you're onto something guys, because I think the real question to ask is, when does your contract actually start on upgrades? is it when you place the order online, or when you activate the phone, or like was mentioned, agree to the terms and what not.....

and I'm not sure I'd call myself "all set" just because Verizon told me the recorded the phone call you know? jus sayin :-)

Posts like these make me sad. We did this a week ago.

Comment was not directed at you, was just speaking in general. No pins & needles here my friend & glad you joined the discussion.

I do find it hard to believe that Samsung changed the design of the phone for Verizon alone, changed it from the design that is identical for every other carrier AROUND THE WORLD. Additionally, not realistic for Verizon to air a commercial that lacks branding. So it had to be digitally added for the commercial.

Class action suit? I'd be down. I'm in my 20s, and I'm hoping to ride this unlimited data plan until my retirement (or cell phones become obsolete)
